Here's what I believe is a little special case for Express Entry and hence will appreciate some guidance:

I have been in the IT industry for over 20 years in senior positions. Co-founded an IT consulting firm in India (am an Indian passport holder) two years back. My co-founding partner is a Canadian citizen. Earlier this year, as part of expanding our operations to Canada, we travelled for 2 weeks and then again later in the year for a month (I was on visitor visa both times). In between this, as we were looking for opportunities in Canada, we also incorporated our company in Canada as per local laws though we are yet to get any business locally there. Our India based entity has business running for 2+ years.

I am now keen to immigrate to Canada with my family. I took the IELTS test and so did my wife. We have also got our education credentials assessed from WES (both of us are engineers from a good college in India) and it was approved as equivalent to a Canadian degree. My wife is an engineer currently working in India with an American engineering MNC. I am looking at applying based on the below, under Federal Skilled Worker program for Express Entry.

However with age (we are 43+), our CERS score comes to around 350 which doesn’t look attractive to help us by itself unless I have a LIMA approved job offer. Questions:

1. Can my Canadian company (where I am a equal 50% owner) issue a job offer to me? We can do the LIMA process etc through a lawyer if this works.
2. If #1 is not possible, is there any other avenue to explore immigration without a job offer?
3. A generic question on the process, after the changes last month, if having a job offer is now only 200 points from the earlier 600 points, does that mean that the points for other factors (language, skills etc.) has now increased from 600 to 1000? In which case, I am not sure how my CERS is still showing 350+ with good language score and professional qual. I know I am not getting any points for age.

Thanks

1) Without the company having actual operations and revenue in Canada backed up through paid invoices, tax returns, etc. - there's really no chance the LMIA will be approved.
2) Have you looked into the Provincial Nominee Programs. Another option might be the Start Up Visa program.

Thanks. I looked up on the start-up visa program but that does seem to be very encouraging for a consulting business that we are into. It's more suitable for a product or a company developing some form of IP (Intellectual Property) in my reading after I went through the form of a couple of designated organizations.

I am again going through the Provincial Nomination Program : Am I right in understanding that the a nomination under PNP is most likely when there's a skill that will be of use to the provincial government (for better of lives or from a government point of view than a skill which would be more suited for private companies like Program Management in IT?)

Also, if I get a LMIA done for a job offer, with the reduced scores for a job offer what is the max score now for the second part of the score which comes from language skills, education qual etc for FSW under Express Entry. It used to be 600 earlier as the max possible score before the last changes. What's the new max score for this set of contributors?

Thanks so much again!

If your network qualifies (CAD150K to CAD350K) you may look into provincial entrepreneur programs

Thanks. On my second query : with the revised points system as per the guidance released last month for Express Entry, if a job offer can get a max of 200 points, what's the max now for the other set of points (language, education etc. which earlier used to be maxed at 600)? Since the total seems to be still at 1200 points, has the other set now been set for a max of 1000 points? Thanks

Wow that age chart is harsh. Seems kind of outdated. A 40 year old could still have a good 20 years to contribute to the workforce. Plus they bring experience and $$$.
