I'm currently re-appearing my IELTS and will soon start the ECA process. I'm getting the process done through an consultant; but they don't provide job assistance..How can I find a job without being in Canada? I'm planning to go to Ontario since I know a couple of people in that part of the country.

What I have researched is that there are consultants in Mumbai, India that promise a job assistance when we apply for Canada PR. But agencies like Opulentus and Y-axis just don't seem that promising. Is it possible that I can get job offer when I enter in the job pool?

Or is it all a lie?

It would be great if someone throws a light on this issue. If the possibility of applying for jobs before reach the country is possible while i'm in the work pool is high, it would solve my funding problem.

My IELTS Score:
L:8.5
R:7
S:8
W-6.5 (CLB 6..unfortunately I need to score 7 in writing which will shoot my score to 450)

Also, Onatrio PNP is temp. shut which makes my score ineligible to apply for the process.

My points with this score are 405. I have one year plus work experience in Product Marketing. I am an MBA in Marketing.
Unmarried and age 25.

Any help will be appreciated.

Thanks.

Hi,

First thing regarding the IELTS score, W-6.5, yes definitely u r losing on about 40-50 points.
Secondly, your work experience is less than 3 years and this is where you lose another 25 points. But for scoring these points, you need to have more work experience.

About the consultants, I have gone through a consultant in Delhi, they took a hefty amount from me. Before giving them the money, they were all promising. But after that they just told me what papers to get and then asked me to do everything on my own. After a little help in ECA from them, I asked for refund, and then all that crap - policies and blah blah. In short, they just need money out of you, make u sign stupid papers, and make you run after them. They promise for the job thing, but then I met a few people who were in the same boat and never had a job offer. Or the type of job offers they get were under paid or not decent. But that also happened once they get their PR, and not while in the waiting pool.

If the consultant is genuine (a little bit even), they will tell you exactly the same path - CIC - Express Entry - IELTS - ECA - ITA - PR. This I believe can easily be done online. People in this forum can help u, there is lot of online material and everything is there on CIC website.

In the jobbank pool (that you have to register while adding your profile in Express entry pool), I have never seen very promising jobs, but if you get PR you usually have some time before landing and that is the time when you can easily crack a job offer. Getting a Job Offer with LMIA assessment from Canada, is really tough these days. It is mostly for those who are already working in Canada and need to apply for PR. Most of the companies are not offering Jobs if you don't have a PR/or you are already working there. But if you can get a PR then you can definitely apply through Linked In/Monster or through your references in Toronto (or wherever in Canada) for the same. The companies will be happy to take you because they don't have to process your visa/work permit.

So my suggestion, focus on your IELTS and try to score maximum and get your PR. And the window between day you are given Visa and your Landing will be the best time to apply to companies and get a job offer.

All the best.

Thank you :)
The agency that I have hired is taking money in stages. So I don't need to pay money all together and I'm paying around 60,000 Rs. for the process to the consultant. Basically, at each stage of ECA-ITA-PR. Hopefully, the agency shouldn't be an issue during the process. But yes, I've heard many people over here say that it is easy to do it by themselves. Although, it is difficult to ignore the fact that there is high % of people whose application gets rejected due to minute mishaps; that is worrisome.

Thanks for the clarity on the job front. Just one question. Do you think PNP Ontario will be opening for Invites soon? Also, if I get a score of 7778(SRWL) my score goes up to 450. Is that a good score to get an ITA?

Thanks.

Job Offer........
Pre-Assessed..
What stream are you considering for Ontario?
They recently closed the streams due to meeting the quota.
IMO, they won't open till next year.

About the jobs, they are plenty of people living in Ontario looking for jobs in Ontario so
I don't know how successful you will be competing against those who are already physically in Ontario, let alone the temporary status of yours.
It comes down to your talent. If a company requires your unique set of skills, then yea, they will hire you no matter where you are.

Well i want to get into FMCG or maybe the entertainment industry. I've specialized in marketing so that's the field I'm planning to apply for.

Oh, does this mean that I have to wait for the ITA if the score doesn't drop to 450? I was kind of hoping to take PNP. Since, my score doesn't cross 460-480 (the current points for ITA).

Well currently the score of 450 is definitely not enough as of now. As per last 2-3 draws, the cut of score is above 480. But then it has dropped in the past to 450 before. So there are hopes.
And yes, you have to wait for the ITA till the time the cut off score does not drop to 450.
You can always apply to PNP provided they are accepting the applications. As of now they are not I guess.

I have seen your previous IELTS Score:
L:8.5 - CLB 10
R:7 - CLB 9
S:8 - CLB 10
W-6.5 - CLB 8

You definitely have a potential to score CLB 10 throughout. Just work on your writing skills and if you can focus a little more on reading and you score CLB 10, you might go above 450.
CLB 10 in all - 34 * 4 = 136 (about 14 points jump)
currently - 34 + 34 + 31 + 23 = 122

Skills transferability factors:
Foreign work ex : jump from 13 to 25 after scoring CLB 9 throughout (12 points jump)
Education : jump from 25 to 50 points after scoring CLB 9 throughout (25 points jump)

so you can reach upto level - 456 - Possibilities that the cut off will go down again (when, not sure but as per few guys on forum may be in 2-3 months)

So start preparing for IELTS, focus on it and All the Best (y)
