Job letter after rule changes

Hi,

I have a friend who recently got a job letter from canada after he applied for FSWP. His employer gave him just a letter confirming the job. Does anyone know if that would work for FSWP or there have been rules changed after express entry for job letter. I mean.. do the employer has to go thru labour market etc and then supply a cnadidate with letter or anyone can provide one ??

Your friend has to apply through express entry.

To get the additional 600 points for an arranged employment offer through express entry, your friend needs an approved LMIA.

No no. He has applied for FSW and have got PER. I am just curious if he needs to go thru proper channel to get job letter and submit it to visa office or is it fine to just submit a letter from employer

The new job offer does not provide your friend any advantage from immigration point of view UNLESS his employer gets LMIA approval and then he applies again under the express entry system. If he did that, the PR process would be expected to be complete within 6 months. But for the already submitted application, it is of no use since he has already qualified for the program even without the job offer and the application will be processed in due time. Therefore, going through the labor market process doesn't really help the OLD application.

he did qualify for FSW but if he shows a letter then he wont have to show proof of funds at airport .. i was also curious if visa office ask for proof after u get PER ??
