Human Resources and Skills Development Canada develops projections of future labour demand and labour supply by broad skill level and by occupation, using the models of the Canadian Occupational Projection System (COPS). These projections allow for identifying those occupations that are likely to face shortage or surplus of workers over the medium term.

Users can search for occupational summaries, more detailed data and technical documents on the results or the methodology used to do the projections.

after reading such posts. . .
thats so un justice. . .If there is so much tough criteria for immigration then after migration atleast there should be jobs avaiiable for new immigrants. . . .

I think it is important that real voice should be heard. I think comments from newtone and memikoglan are valuable. How many immigrants (in the journals) wished if they had known the reality before immigration. Surely there are many immigrants who have sustained status and class. But I disagree we should, in this forum, portray immigration to Canada to be rosy. We should be as real as possible, both negative and positive. The choice will be made by readers.
Well said - and I agree wholeheartedly!

Things I learned in Canada:
- lower your expectations
- learn to unlearn what you have previously learned

In any country using immigration to prop up their society - you will notice that most of the opportunities will come from the skilled worker class. Same as with Canada. In the past decades - most of the youth and younger generations put their education and efforts in technology, lured by the quick wealth provided by the internet and technology. Less was the number of youth who went to ply and trade in skills that formed the backbone of services to society - agriculture, food production, medical services, fishing etc. Here you may rarely see a young electrician, plumber, car mechanic who are plying that trade by choice. And people in these skilled trades are decreasing. And immigration was thought of as the solution to fill in these opening gaps.

Here lies the rub - there is a great disparity with the qualifications put forth in immigrating here in Canada the actual availability of opportunities at par or greater than what the immigrant left in his home country. To those lucky ones who have upgraded their status after coming here - congratulations to them. To those who had more and after coming here had to downgrade - you will find regrets.

Look and read carefully and you'll understand. Under category it says "FAM". Here's a hint, so it's possible I may be sponsoring someone (i.e Family)

it doesn't make sense my friend, cause it would primarily mean that you are the one being sponsored and waiting for your medicals/visa...i believe one is expected to put his own timeline - not others.

Besides, if you are really suffering as you say - how could you sponsor someone to come and suffer there too??

This is an immigration forum and therefore there are people here who are "sponsored" and people who are "sponsoring other people" who are sharing their timelines so that we can help each other and get a better understanding of the immigration system. So my friend I am having a little trouble understanding your logic and line of reasoning.

If extended family wants to come I can share my experience with them (as I already have in this forum) but if they want to come regardless I cant stop them I can only help as much as I can. As with most people once they get here they'll get a sense of reality. But anywhere the idea is not to talk about my family or your family in an open forum, experience speak for itself. The only thing we can do it is share our experiences here. Feel feel to share yours too when you land, good luck :)

Vitomanolo16,

You just don't get it. But it is quite normal. Before I came to Canada as an immigrant I was warned about similar bad experiences and I told and wrote exactly as you did. I just ignored them and I told them do not generalize the situation just like you wrote. I think this is human psychology. Human is trying not to think about it or does not want to believe something bad about his/her dream. I exactly know what you are going through now. I had similar feelings, hopes, fears, sadness etc. I was getting angry with people those who write/say something negative about Canada. So, I had opportunity to test and see it myself with my family.

The general situation in Canada is UNFORTUNATELY very horrible (I can not find any other word to define the current situation). Anyway I do not tell "don't come" to everybody. I tell "DO NOT COME" to this HELL if you do not have money enough for 3-4 years. Because you will not find any job in your profession and if you are lucky you will find a job paying $9 per hour and you will face to perfect DISCRIMINATION here in CANADA.

I just warn all those who are preparing to destroy their career. If you will be very happy to collect Canadian's garbage here then come. By the way Canada is incredibly expensive country. You have probably checked already haven't you.
Anyway it is your choice. I waited 4 years to come here Canada and I am associate professor. I have been here for 2 years I am looking for any kind of job but cannot find anything even cleaning job.

Last words: I am writing for every people who wants to come to Canada. Check internet, search what people talk about Australia or New Zealand and what people talk about Canada? Maybe that search will help you getting awake...

Bye
Why don't you get back to your place, if it is so UNFORTUNATELY very horrible situation there (in Canada). No one stops you. You can get back and continue your life in your country, right?

Bye bye...
