Hi, I applied for citizenship in November 2017 and I changed job last February.
Should I notify CIC with the change?

I'm in process, still waiting for test invite, Montreal Office.

No you don’t need it

Pls see AOR it says what you need you update .

For the interview time they will
Ask you where do you work , then you should say when did you start your new job

How can I update or ask about an IRCC application in progress?
If your application is already in progress, use the Client Application Status (CAS) service. This service lets you view the status of your immigration and/or citizenship application online.

You can also use this web form if:

  • you want to report important changes about your application, such as:
    • births
    • deaths
    • marriages
    • divorces
    • adoptions
    • changes in address
    • changes in employment
    • a new educational credential
    • results of an approved language test

I have a similar question. My son just started a summer internship for 4 months (from May 1st) as part of his university education in GTA which is two hours drive (almost 200 km) from our current city. He is currently living there temporarily for next 4 months and after that he will be back here. Now also,he is visiting us and staying with us every weekend.
  • Is this information required to be updated to IRCC?
  • If it is for the updating of contact details, I don't feel any necessity since there is no change in his phone number or email id and we are here to receive any post coming to our current mailing address.
  • But other than that, is there any need or rule to update this change since this is after the application and AOR?
  • His present "main" status is university student. Summer Internship is temporary. He will be back to university in September. In the application also, I have mentioned his previous three year's study terms and summer internships. Since this internship started after applying, I am not sure whether there is any need to update this now or he can mention it while interview, if asked, because his main status as a student is not changed as he is still enrolled in university and this is only a summer break.( And because of the student factor, I think this situation may be different from a normal full-time or part-time employee who changes employer during application)
Seniors, please advise. Thanks in advance !!!

As you said "we are here to receive any post coming to our current mailing address"... so, there's no reason to update your ECAS profile or contact IRCC.
