Java Developer - Four years exp - Toronto job search

Hi All,

I have come to Toronto as a dependent on my husband who is a closed work permit worker as Software tester.

I have applied for a spousal open work permit on March 14th and yet to recieve the work permit.

How do i go about looking for a Java developer job in Toronto and should i wait till i receive my open work permit to start looking for a job ?

Kindly advise.
