I saw this a week ago and it has still been removed for the Step 2 - outland processing quote time. Does anybody have any idea what does this mean?

I'm thinking either 1) they dont have enough data to display the processing time 2) too many people are applying from outside japan because it is sooner than inland?

Please help if you know any information or a good reason why it has been removed. It used to say "6 months"

Or that the office was closed and all the files were transferred to Manila. Which is actually what happened. http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/resources/manuals/bulletins/2012/ob415.asp

CIC trying to cut waiting times down, obvious answer shut down more VO's. That will work lol

It may actually cut it down a little, most Asian countries have to send their meds to Manila because the head med. office is there. So, what happens is meds are sent there, then we have to wait for them to be processed and returned. It may make things slow while it is transitioning, but it will probably speed up the process in the long run.

sorry can you re-explain that? If i'm planning apply for outland in january 2013.. will this be a good or bad thing? im just trying to understand lol

I have no idea, sorry :( If it's all going to Manila, I'm guessing it will speed it up.

Applicants from China send their meds to the regional medical center in Beijing. Not sure why others would have to send them to Manilla?

FS

Not sure, but ours were sent from Korea to Manila too.

Wow that's unfortunate. The Tokyo used to be one of the faster VOs. I wonder what happens if an interview is requested, do you actually have to fly to Manila?

I mentioned the closure of Visa offices, Berlin, Tokyo and Buffalo. I fail to see how closing down 3 big VO's would speed processing times at all. Medicals are an important step but only a small step of the process. It is only a matter of matching the paperwork you send it with serial number against the results that already in the database. I can't see them checking medical results takes long at all.

What I see happening because of VO's closing down is longer waiting times for the files that are transferred there, longer waiting times for the people who were originally using the redirected VO and slower process for future applicants but applications have increased in size. Tokyo, Buffalo and Berlin would have a lot of applications going through those VO's.

Once again this is certainly not about speeding up processing times, it is based upon cost cutting and the people affected are not the people that shut the VO's it will be the people who already have long processing times.

yeah who knows, I was just trying to offer one possible reason in an attempt to understand the method to their madness. I have no idea why they would do this, but I'd like to think they have a plan.
