"• Fees can only be paid in Canadian Dollar and Philippine Peso currencies although it is advisable to pay in Canadian Dollars to avoid currency fluctuation."

Thanks in advance!

Pearlyshell is right. Moreover, be sure to call the embassy first for the exact amount in pesos before purchasing the manager's check. I had to re-submit my application to CEM since it was returned to me for failing to issue the correct processing fee. My returned application had a manager's check worth Php 6150 since I considered that fluctuation might occur while they process my application.

The correct processing fee for now is only Php. 6100.

Didn't you checked the site before submitting your manager's cheque? I'm sorry to here that. Also, when you call PIASI, they will tell you the amount to be placed in the manager's cheque.

Usually this is fixed like for last 2-3 years, the peso equivalent is 6,500 Php. Then they changed last year I think around Oct-Nov 2012 to 6,100 Php to compensate for the ForEx.

Anyway you are correct to call them or just check the website. They do give an advise before they change the processing fee and they don't change it like every month.

@Cabalen
Frequent naman po na nagu-update ang http://www.cic.gc.ca So it's a big YES to check it frequently. Pero tama nga kayo na mas ok if you pay your manager's check in CA$.

For your info, just click this http://www.canadainternational.gc.ca/philippines/visas/fees-frais.aspx?view=d
