This happened to me today. Saw the Application updated with a star mark but nothing changed. The tracker showed there was an update (with a star mark) when I logged in on Feb 14, but nothing had changed. Four days later, the test changed to IP and today my BG is complete.
Yeah after logging in, it disappears. You should receive test invite in the next 3-4 daysThis happened to me today. Saw the Application updated with a star mark but nothing changed.
When I re-logged in, the star mark had disappeared and there is no new entry in ‘Application History’.
There is just one entry in that section : Feb 3, 2025 - Application filed
@ayass1 - there was no change for you in Application history on Feb 14.. right? Was there just ‘Application filed’ entry?
I saw you got AOR on 20 Jan. Have you had your test invite yet? I got AOR on 29 Jan, and yesterday I had a ghost update. Background Verification Completed: February 20, 2025
What time does the update usually happen is it only over night or does it also happen sometime during a work dayI saw you got AOR on 20 Jan. Have you had your test invite yet? I got AOR on 29 Jan, and yesterday I had a ghost update.
Where you seeing this as official page(https://ircc.canada.ca/english/helpcentre/answer.asp?qnum=364&top=5) says - Every application is different. The wait time for your test invitation depends on your situation and our current processing time. The latest IRCC guidance mentions, one should get the test invite within one week of AOR - is this not what happens? It used to take months before but now they immediately issue test invites, and BG, LPP checks run later (unlike before), any thoughts anyone?
Wait for your test invitationWe usually send the invitation within 1 week of your acknowledgement of receipt (AOR) letter or email.
- We’ll send the AOR after we check that your submitted application is complete.
- If you haven’t received your AOR, check if you’ll get it soon.
- The wait time for the invitation also depends on your situation and our current processing time.
- For example, you may wait longer if your application is non-routine.
You don’t need to contact us to get an invitation. We’ll send them as quickly as possible.

This seems realistic based on how people are being currently invited. Also the processing time increased from 7 to 8 months now so one week doesn't sound realistic.
I feel they have messed it up. You get AOR one week after submission. Instead of AOR they used that info for test too. Never seen anyone get one week after AOR. You can check the Google spreadsheet too. Hopefully new applicants should see this changes if they truly mean it.https://www.canada.ca/en/immigration-refugees-citizenship/services/canadian-citizenship/become-canadian-citizen/citizenship-test.html
the above link says it...check it out, that 7 months - 8 months keeps varying, due to holidays in December.
You are right - spreadsheets don't reflect this. Maybe it's to boost our hopes and morale initially.I feel they have messed it up. You get AOR one week after submission. I am a non-test applicant. Became PR years ago, but applied for citizenship now.I saw you got AOR on 20 Jan. Have you had your test invite yet? I got AOR on 29 Jan, and yesterday I had a ghost update.
