You will get an email close to your test invite start date.

Where did you give them? Here it’s by appointment only and the next one for me is next week..

You can give them at VPD, at an RCMP location or an RCMP accredited location for example:
https://commissionaires.bc.ca/fingerprinting/

*I have no affiliation with the above... You may conduct a Google Search for "RCMP accredited fingerprinting" and go from there

Do I need to wait for the FP email or can I just go and give them directly? My account shows the FP request but no email yet

You'll need to wait for the letter. It shows which IRCC office the Finger Printing results need to be sent back to by the RCMP

Since I’m outside of Canada I need to get myFP done locally and then sent to an agency accredited by RCMP in Canada for digitisation. Hence I have few days before it reaches the agency who I can ask to forward once I receive the letter. I just thought of saving time by sending my FP from India to Canada

Yes, if you are doing it from abroad, you'll need to mail in the fingerprints for digitisation by an accredited agency like the one I mentioned above. Maybe, you can contact one of them to see if you can mail the prints in advance and forward the letter later via e-mail

Where are you located? I am in Hamilton, but in Hamilton we had a long wait for my wife's fingerprints, so we drove to Mississauga and had her fingerprints done next day.
