I read news that Hurricane Fiona is causing havoc in eastern Canada including Sydney NS, where I suppose our applications are being processed. Would this mean, we should expect delays? Should we be worried? Or Sydney office handles cases until background check and then transfers to our respective regions?

Submitted: January 14, 2022

IRCC thanks the hurricane for providing them new excuses to delay the application processing

Seeing the background verification taking equal amount of time with other Jan 22 candidates. I don't see any distinction being made to 55+ yr applicants. Its following the normal application processing cycle like any other applicant.

I really hope that isn't the case. I guess your BG check is done. So how long does it take after BG to get test invite? I guess for you the major work is done and hopefully you should be getting test invite soon
