Problem is this is not news anymore, everyone knows system is broken and by taking it to media, government doesnt even bother itself making any comments. It all ties back into the fact that no one is accountable and they blame everything on pandamic, shortage of staff l, blah blah blah...
Also, looks like online applications started to make a slow move (after 8 or 9 months of complete stop).

I am not sure why are they asking for fingerprints at this time... I did my fingerprint when I applied for my PR in 2016, I have been in Canada for over 10 years, it is not like they don’t have these information. Is this is normal ?

This thread is full of joys from paper applicants. Do Our online applicants deserve a slow processing? We paid the same amount of citizenship application fee. How could the outcomes like this?
This is called Canada my friend, land of corruption, incompetence and paradox. I'm dealing with USCIS and their response time is flawless - considering U.S. population is 10× Canada.
It all ties back to the crap Liberal government.

Is it normal to get a test invite before BG verification is completed? What are some good resources in addition to the book to prepare for the test?

lmao, if USCIS is so good to you, get your citizenship in the US? Oh, you can't and have to rely on the incompetent Liberal government of Canada? Such a sad situation for you.
Having gone through the immigration process on both sides, the Canadian side is much more straightforward and easier to deal with. Yes, there are delays, yes there is a lack of transparency in cases, but there is also a guaranteed result unlike a lottery based system in the US. Be thankful that you are afforded this opportunity in Canada with any government in power, you'd just be on a waiting list for your lifetime dealing with the USCIS.
