I don’t understand why IRCC only process the paper applications and leave so many online applicants waiting forever. This is absolutely discouraging.

My PR card is expected to expire in February 2023, and my Indian passport expires in August 2023.

I have applied for Canadian Citizenship through an online application. Here is my timeline -

Online Application submitted - 26 January 2022
Application delivered - 26 January 2022
AOR Received - 10 March 2022
In Process - ecas - 14 March 2022

The current processing time of new citizenship seems to be 24 months on the CIC website.

My question -
1. I am planning to renew both my PR card and passport. Do I need to communicate/update CIC regarding my application with the new details of my PR card and passport?

2. Is there any way to ask CIC to expedite the citizenship process so that I don't have to do this ordeal of renewing of Indian passport and PR Card?

I am looking forward to some insights from the admins!

For the second question, you cannot use that reason to expedite your citizenship process. Valid reasons are mentioned here - https://www.canada.ca/en/immigratio...p/become-canadian-citizen/apply/urgently.html

My kid profile is still stuck on the same date Feb 7 saying application is filed. No update after that. Any one else on the same boat where kids profile is not updated?
Also anyone knows when is oath scheduled after decision is made? Any average timeline?

Hi,
1. Some people receive Oath Invite almost as soon as the "Decision made". In this case, they receive the Oath Invite around 4 to 5 weeks in advance to the oath date.
2. For others Oath Invite get delayed - they receive it in 2 to 4 weeks after the "Decision made". In this case, they hardly have 1 to 2 weeks to the Oath date.

Request others to confirm or clarify my understanding.

Same situation here. Decision made on 11th Aug. For kids, it's normal.
In the application tracking tool, I see "Oath not started yet". Is it same for you?

No, in the tracker, it says "in progress" even after 1 week.
