A few weeks before I contacted my MP, I had actually written to the minister of immig Sean Fraser - I got a reply today from his office - which has nothing substantial, but a very frustrating line - which, to be honest, borders on a lie:

"Citizenship applications are generally reviewed in the order they are received unless there are compelling circumstances to proceed otherwise. Moving an application ahead in the queue is unfair to other applicants in similar circumstances who have applied earlier."

This is literally what they are doing to applications! They are being unfair to all of us, (and those waiting from 2019, 2020), while processing newer applications. I didn't expect minister's office to so blatantly lie!

However, the reply is not totally generic, as they do refer to the fact that I have been scheduled to give my citizenship test (already passed). I hope this enquiry from the minister's office also propels my file forward.

Everything except citizenship ceremony is completed in new tracker for me today & status in old eCAS is Decision Made. Now wait starts for oath invitation.

We should recommend that they get a data analysis to review all of the application dates, invite dates, and oath dates over the past two years then they can see how well they have followed their first in first out rule. My good friend is a master in big data and databases and works for the government... they should hire her to help them out!

You do not need big data. It is so painfully obvious. It's FIFO but in a very soft manner.

After a long wait (BG completed in April 2021), I got the test update this morning! Please update the tracker @CdnWifeLivingInThailand

How long in advance do they send the instructions for the ceremony? Mine is on March 4. Still nothing. Will I receive an email one week before it?

Max before 7 days, you still got time i guess, you may get it on or before 26th February 2022. You got 4 or 5 days to have it show up in your email Inbox.

Finally got my citizenship certificate yesterday. This officially marks the end of my business/journey with IRCC. Good luck to everyone awaiting good news on the applications!

congrats! If you happened to have asked for a passport, could you post here when you get it or what the timeline they gave you is?

I still havent done my citizenship test and I will have to leave the country for a week in May, i m getting a bit worried about what would happen if i get the certificate just before (like April). Thanks!

Got the citizenship certificate for my Wife and Son, only 2 envelpos showed up today, i will get mine tomorrow probably. I will start filling passport applications ofor them. Congartulations and wish you good luck. The chapter with Passport Canada starts soon

I filled out the request form on Service Canada to request urgent request of the passport yesterday.

They called me back today and asked me to come in tomorrow morning with the application forms and proof of travel. I’m paying for the express pickup service (additional $50). Will update when I pick up the passport!
