I received my latest GCMS notes last night.

They did another background/criminal check early March, so now my background check validity is until Mar 2023 - this check was done before expiry of my previous check, and before DM.

My file however is still in Sydney NS office, and my local Mississauga office is still secondary.

Was BG status changed in portal to In Progress from Completed & then again back to completed? It happened so in my case.

I think they are probably not doing actual BG check, just changing status in system; so that system does not ask it again if oath is delayed.

It didn't change for me. Maybe you are right about just changing status - because the new background check was requested and completed in less than 10 mins, while the original one took 5 weeks.

This is clear picture. They will do second BG check, won’t extend first BG check.

Only issue happens with those who given fingerprints before. They need to resubmit FP’s for second BG check.

Can someone please share how to apply for urgent processing? On the website, when I click on the webform, It doesn’t take me to a webform.

After I didn't hear back after submitting a webform for urgent processing for two weeks, I called them a couple of days ago. An agent recommended that I (snail) mail them the same request to the address of the office, where my application is being processed. Apparently, they are a bit overwhelmed with webform requests and it takes a long time to just forward it to the right place. So this way you may skip the slowest part of the process. Yes, you can do it any time between start & end date/time given in email.

10-Feb-2022: Did my knowledge test, 20/20
29-Mar-2022: Language + Physical Presence + Prohibitions Completed

xx-xxx-2022: Oath Ceremony.

I submitted my passport photocopy in September. Final decision was made in November.

When did you get your update with a test window? Just so I can update the excel tracking? When is your testing window? We just did the test this past weekend in the middle of the night when our kids were sleeping. Good luck studying!
