BTW just to share my experience on the oath as i had posted a query previously- I did take the zoom call on my mobile and everything worked great. No issues at all. In case anyone has issues on not being able to take the oath through a regular computer or internet connection, the phone through the cellular network works great.

I sent a follow up email to the Clerk asking to expedite the process.
Not sure what's going to happen.
Hope I don't lose my job in the States :(
Hi Clark,

Were you working in USA and came to Canada for the Citizenship oath?, or have you got the new job and planning to join in two weeks?,

All the processes is completed on May 04, 2021 except citizenship oath according the new tracker. Still no email or status update for Citizenship Oath. Any thoughts, why is it taking so long. My office is Mississauga.

As your job is not dependent on Canadian citizenship, how come you are expecting your job to go away just because citizenship certificate doesnt arrive on time?
You should just ask someone to post it to you. Is that what you meant that you would wait for certificate for long?

Thank you Raj.
Just a quick query: after completing the citizenship test how long does it take to hear the next steps?
what is the next steps? I am from Scarborough.
The next step might be PP pages request and/or an interview. Not everyone receives this but based on recent reports, a LOT of applicants have been getting the passport pages request. After that, the application goes to "Decision Made" status. There some waiting to be done after that and then comes the oath notification.

Good luck!

So I was strictly told by the IRCC official to be in Canada until I receive the Citizenship Certificate and the passport.

While I understand that the Citizenship Certificate is mostly mailed and placed in the mailbox (I have rented a mailbox in Canada) on an off chance i have also heard where sometimes people are asked to go and collect the certificate from the nearest Canada Post outlet. Trying not to take a risk because traveling outside the country after the PR card has been snipped into pieces and without citizenship certificate and passport in case at some point i need to reenter and i don't have the relevant documents may create further complications.

Right now I have taken a short vacation from work but I hope that i get my certificate on time. Prolonged absence from my work can encourage them to look for someone else to fill my position.

Hope this clarifies.

How long the official told you the certificate will take to be mailed?

Can you take the oath in a Canadian embassy over seas..... Legally these are Canadian soil? Just said I'd throw it out there.
