@legalfalcon My medicals expired on 9th December 2020 and post that I have seen the message on login to the CIC portal indicating "You don't need a medical exam..". I called up IRCC on 24th December 2020 and they confirmed that the medicals have been extended to 15th December 2021.

But even now one month later I don't see the updated medical date when logging in to the CIC portal. Could you advise if I should call them and check again? Am just worried and confused as to why the updated date has not reflected yet.

This is because Eno one has updated it on your file. You will have to wait. There are many administrative delays.

Oh ok thanks for the quick clarification on that. I believe this would be related / due to the current lockdowns situation right?

Yes. Currently IRCC is only able to work on CEC application on full capacity, everything else is delayed.

Hello All,

1. Recieved Ready for Visa email on Dec 14, 2020.
2. Medical exams approved on Dec 9, 2020.
3. Provided passports for stamping on Jan 10, 2020
4. Got decision approved on Jan 23, and received Counterfoil date expiry on June 29, 2021.
My wife is pregnant and expected date of delivery is June last week, 2020. Doctor has not recommended her to travel during this period. So what will happen to my approved application. Please help.

Deteriorating level of response from IRCC -
Hi All - Our medical expired on 31Dec20 and since then we tried reaching IRCC through webforms / eMail.
Initially in 2020 , we would get webform response within 3 days , later in 2020 it became 2 weeks. Now we haven't received a response for more than 20 days.
This deteriorating level of response from IRCC is very concerning. FSW-O and PNP-O candidates need to know high level timelines of application processing from IRCC. Putting our applications on hold forever and blaming it all on COVID-19 doesn't work. We expect professional / time-bound response on this issue from IRCC.Covid-19 is 1 year old now and its here to stay.
@legalfalcon - Could you please share your suggestions on this issue ?

Did anyone else got a ghost update this morning?

my details:
AOR Jan
Outland Applicant
VO Ottawa

I did, GU was about my medical extensions, now shown as "Review of medical results - January 25, 2021:You passed the medical exam."
Took about a month to update after the last GU where my expired medicals had a change of status to "you do not need a medical exam"

Another GU.
Medical expired, so medical status changed to
"You do not need a medical exam. We will send you a message if this changes" from "You have passed medical on...".

Strange is:
The message in application status on the top containing "20% applications..... etc etc" is gone now.
The status shown now is:
"We are processing your application. We will send you a message when there is an update or if we need more information from you."

Anyone else seeing the same status?

Your frustration is valid, however, Provinces of Ontario and Quebec are under strict lockdown. IRCC is headquartered in Ottawa and the offices are closed. The delays have been since the stringent closures and lockdowns started.

You can read more on the IRCC's staffing issues due to COVID, which were discussed in the meeting of the Parliamentary Committee on Immigration and Citizenship on December 2, 2020. Further Committee meetings were held on December 7, 2020 and December 9, 2020 to discuss the "Impact of COVID-19 on the Immigration System."

With a vaccine shortfall in all Provinces, this delay will continue until late spring or early summer.

Request your opinion:

My latest GCMS notes say:
Officer review: UCI Household request sent to OSC.
This is the second time I’ve ordered my notes. The first time, my file was ready for approval (as of 6th June 2020). Any specific interpretation?
