Citizenship invite received May 10th. Test scheduled for June 3rd.
@cefect Could you tell us when the ECAS turned to 'in process'? So that we can include this info in the stats. Thanks and good luck on your test.

So I see that a lot of people are getting thier fingerprint requests, doesn't seem like a sample anymore or at least they've increased sample size as roughly 10% of people in the January window got these.

In any case, just for added clarity:

This is how the fingerprint request was updated on ECAS:

"We sent you correspondence on May 8, 2019. If you have not yet provided the information or the requested documents, please do so as soon as possible. Please wait until you receive the correspondence before sending us additional information, as the correspondence will outline all information that is required."

In addition, a few pointers from my fingerprint experience:

- The letter requires you to bring COPR but if you have valid PR then they might not need it. I confirmed this at the F1 fingerprint mississauga location; I would recommend as it is fast and efficient. Also I'm not sure if you all had your original COPR with you as mine is in the docs somewhere so this was a relief!
- They need 2 ID docs OTHER THAN PR with your face on it. Interestingly, health card is accepted as an ID in this case.
- No, you won't get a confirmation back. The results are sent to RCMP who then processes and sends a certificate to the visa office. You might want to call RCMP after 3 weeks of submission if interested.
- The fingerprint agency confirms that the RCMP sends your fingerprints to the visa office through REGULAR mail (Canada post). As such, expect it to take 10 business days AFTER RCMP processing (which is itself 3-5 business days).
- The F1 place in mississauga cost 55 bucks; I was done in 15 mins.

Hope this helps.

Hello everyone! I need your advice. I have test interview tomorrow. There was important notice attached to the invitation saying:
For every passport or travel document, you must also bring a clear legible photocopy of the page bearing your picture and biographic information (name, date of birth, etc.)

You MUST bring it along with your original passport at the time of your test session. If you do not bring the necessary documents, the processing of your file may be delayed.
So I assume that I need to bring a copy of my passport. Is it really necessary? I can't recall that anyone brought such copy on this forum. Or I am wrong?
ps. Asking because I don't have coping machine handy.

Doesnt matter what we forum folks claim here or if has been discussed.
It says so in the letter invite from CIC, take that as your holy grail and follow instructions. Figure it out, get the copy sorted.

All the very best for the exam. One step closer.

+1.

Here's why no one on here can tell you the right thing to do: None of us are you. My own test invite did not contain the notice that yours did requiring photocopies. My invite only requires the original documents. My point is that every single person is unique and what CIC/IRCC requires from each of us might be different. If IRCC tells you to bring something specific, please do it; they might never actually ask for the photocopies when you are interviewed, but do you really want to risk it if they do and you don't have it because someone on this forum said it wasn't required? No one here who is commenting works for IRCC (hopefully). No one here can tell you what you should or shouldn't bring. Best way to go prepared is to bring everything they ask for.

That's what I keep saying in this forum... everyone has their own story, that people shouldn't compare apples and pears.

Thank you for you responses. I'll try to get photocopies for sure. However this is surprising for me as I thought the list of documents to bring for test invite is the same for everyone. Also it is the very first time when government officials asked me to bring original documents with photocopies (they did photocopies themself). Anyway, I just felt that I need to share this with you.
