Guys, what do you mean by AOR (Acknowledgement receipt) ?
I have submitted my complete application on January 29, 2018 - it's still under process, just medical exam is passed. Any idea by when would authorities revert with final result ?

i gt PPR 10 days back.. and submitted my application on 8 FEB.
very strange ur case..

Thanks Bro, so you are saying for PPR only email is received and further details are in the email and there is no update in online account? Can you suggest what to d when no email is received from IRCC?

when u gt PPR mail... submit PP and 2 photos as mentioned in email to nearest VFS office...

mostly people say it golden email the PPR one.. only email not specificaly we will get things in cic account

Yeah AOR stands for Acknowledgement of Receipt...What does your Background Check status say?

@Rise and shine @ndshah26 If we see for last month (Feb) they issued for October-2017, then this month(march) they issued for November-2017, So feel like they are done with this month.

LOL... So, in April they will issue for Dec AORs. But then, there are a lot of CEC and PNPs too.
Another point to be noted us that the Feb 27th IP2 too. Don't know if CIC consider that too when making any decisions

Everybody who moved to IP2 on Feb 27th are definitely attracting attention from the visa officers...I have noticed that so many Feb 27 IP2s have gone through and already received their PPRs...

That's true.. But hundreds of us in IP2.., I mean after the mass IP2. So, we all are in queue for the PPR mail...

I just wanted to check if it is advisable to send a reminder to CIC through IRCC Web form to check the status of our application progress as it is more than 2 months? Has anyone sent the reminder as yet?
Also the GCML Notes can only be applied for after 6 months.

If you have access to your online MyCIC account then you don’t really need to contact the agent, since the agent is pretty much gonna give you the same information...Also tbh its too early to order the GCMS notes...I submitted my application on December 30, 2017 and I don’t think its time yet to order the GCMS notes...Also you will sort of end up wasting resources ordering the notes if your application is currently mot being processed, since the agents will not have anything to share as far as your app is concerned...this is just my 2 cents! HTH....

Thanks! But I actually want to know the status by sending a reminder which goes through my CIC account only and that through IRCC web form created from the CIC account. There is no agent involvement as such. Has any one done such exercise as yet, is my question. And will it leave negative impact on my application if a query raised.

Thats called CSE (Case Specific Enquiry), and it has a certain set of guidelines as in when are you advised to use or raise a CSE. You definitely don’t fit into that category yet. If your application hasn’t passed the 6 months app processing deadline then you are advised against raising a CSE. If you are within the 6 month deadline then you should only raise a CSE if you need to communicate important changes to your application post submission. Having said that if you want feel free to raise a CSE but you will end up wasting the agent’s time answering your CSE with a generic response. HTH..

The processing of your application for permanent residence in Canada is almost complete. The following is required to complete your application.
STEP 1: STATUS CHANGE (If none of these conditions applies to you, you may proceed to STEP 2)
Has your family composition changed since our last correspondence?
· Have you married or divorced?
· Have you given birth or adopted a child?
· Do you intend to get married or divorced prior to becoming a permanent resident?
· Do you intend to give birth or adopt a child prior to becoming a permanent resident?
· Have you changed your contact information: e-mail address/mailing address/telephone number?

If any of these conditions apply, you must inform CPC-O immediately:

You will be asked to submit evidence such as a copy of the marriage, divorce, birth or adoption certificate or a letter advising when and where the marriage, divorce, birth or adoption is expected to take place. Any new spouse and/or children must be added to your application and be found admissible to Canada before your case is finalized. Failure to declare additional dependants such as a spouse or children before you become a permanent resident could result in the cancellation of your permanent resident visa. Once your file is closed, you would be required to submit a new application and pay new processing fees. Any new application would be assessed under the Act and Regulations in force at the time of its submission.

STEP 2: PASSPORT(S) REQUEST

We require a VALID passport for you and for each accompanying family member. Passports for you and all accompanying family members must be submitted together. There must be at least one blank visa page in each passport. If there are children included in your passport there must be blank visa pages for them as well.
Please note that permanent resident visas cannot be issued to holders of Diplomatic, Official or Military passports. You must obtain an ordinary passport.

If you or any of your family members are residing outside North America and you are unable to send your/their passport(s) to Canada and/or to provide a return mailing address in North America, contact us at CPC-CTD-Ottawa@cic.gc.ca so that we can make arrangements to print visas at another office.

- Complete the mailing label on one envelope showing your mailing address in the “Deliver To” field.
- Keep a tracking number sticker from each envelope.
- Fold and enclose the self-addressed envelope in the other envelope along with your passport(s) and a copy of this request letter.

If you have a mailing address in the United States: To allow you to track your passports through the mail, we strongly recommend that you purchase a pre-paid shipping label from Canada Post and include it with your passports and a copy of this letter. Final Note
The issuance of your visa(s) cannot be delayed so it is important for you to submit your passport(s) as soon as possible. An expiration date (dd/mm/yy) will be indicated on your visa and/or on your Confirmation of Permanent Residence (CoPR – IMM 5688), and you must obtain permanent residence on or before that date. The visas and CoPR cannot be extended. If you are not prepared to live permanently in Canada immediately after your permanent residence is granted, please consult the CIC website regarding your obligations to retain your status in Canada.

Hey, thanks for sharing the helpful information. I am curious to know if there is anything negative (both in terms of the application approval and the timing) in showing the intent to get married prior to becoming a PR?
