My App was returned Yesterday for 3 reasons:

1. They are asking for imm5562 for my wife ( PA ) which applies to Afghan residents. she was born in Afghanistan, but has been living in Sweden since 2003 and she is Swedish Citizen. ( which really doesn't make sense)

2. Birth Certificate for Principal Applicant and all of her family missing.. she was born in Afghanistan where we don't have Birth Certificates

3. Marriage Certificate, we got married in Ontario.. i sent the original registration.. they refused that.. asking for marriage certificate.. :( :(

OMG thats sad...i really hope you get to gather all those info and send it back asap....i am a bit affraid now as i didnt sent my family birth certificates....Is it important??? or optional in ur case

Hi,

I've heard the outland applicants from US can be done in 4-6 months even though it is clearly stated in the CIC website that it takes around 12 months. My question is: is the 4-6 month period is only for Americans applying from US or anyone applying from US?

I think it can happen to everyone it's case to case basis if your application is GOOD and they're satisfied with no following docs then your good to go. I've seen some in our group (Filipino) experience 3-4 Months :)

1. For Indian applicants - Please suggest what to do in case of non registered (NOT AVAILABLE Birth Certificate for PA);

2. Could it be an impediment if the PA has a history of rejected Visitor Visa from CIC ?

Thanks

Hi, My husband not I are Indian, but my husband comes from a hilltribe in Thailand and no one in his family had or could ever get birth certificates (not important to them; didn't know importance!). So we had the same issue to figure out... Therefore, we prepared an affidavit of birth and signed it in front of a notary public as our witness. It is a sworn statement including details of your name, your birth date, your place of birth, you parents names, etc. We only just sent in our application, but it did not get returned as incomplete (and I was approved as sponsor two days ago and they transferred file to Singapore) So it appears as though they accepted our birth affidavit. If you PM me, I could try to send you a sample of what we submitted.

Thanks for your reply and glad to hear it worked for you. However, in India (Country specific requirement) seems they have listed matriculation and other documents or something that can be accepted. Do we still need to provide affidavit.
Any suggestions from Indian applicants would be highly appreciated... or anyone having more insight into this.

Your PR application will be forwarded to the visa office for processing and now you wait, like me :)

Usually visitor visa rejection has little to no effect when it comes to spousal application. You just have to declare the refusal. Though at some point, if the refusal happened before the couple met, especially if it was a Canadian TRV, it could be a gateway for them to look at the app more closely and think that this person has been trying to get into Canada even before. But if the refusal happened during the course of your relationship, it could mean that you guys have just been trying to see each other, and could potentially earn a merit with regards to genuineness of the relationship.

I hope and wish they look at it the way you did.. ;)
Tnks.

Hello,

Today I got an email requesting a photocopy of my passport to be sent to the Mexico City VO (Funny look at my name) my passport expires in less than 12 months and they need an updated one.

The thing is, I DID NOT GET AOR1?? NO SA??? BUT MY APP WAS SENT TO THE VO? not sure what is going on. Maybe SA was sent by mail (my wife forgot to provide her email address) and it has not arrived but for sure I (the PA) have not gotten any email from them (besides the fact my app is linked online)

So again, NO AOR1, NO SA so far but looks like I got SA already because they are making me send these documents to the Mexico City VO?
