Hi All,

My status is as follows:

1. We received your application for Canadian citizenship (grant of citizenship) on February 27, 2017.
2. We sent you correspondence acknowledging receipt of your application(s), and a study book called Discover Canada on March 6, 2017.
3. We started processing your application on March 15, 2017.

My question is when shall I receive this book, as of yet haven't received the book? Or do I have to order it?

Hi Raj,

When I received my citizenship test invitation letter thru MAIL, IT DOESN't have any booklet. I ordered a copy manually before. The site below is the link:

Hi hungvangg,

In my case even though I included my email address in my citizenship application, I never received any email regarding my citizenship invitation. I just saw it on my ecas. Then recieved the Citizenship test invitation letter thru MAIL.

Thanks. I already did it. But do you know which people they usually send FP? Does it for all in general or some specific group of people?

i differ with the opinion ,my friend who is not Muslim got FP request after interview,he had few gaps in employment where he was not getting any EI benefits and was unemployed ..he said he was looking for some business opportunity...maybe the Case officer was not satisfied and he received the FP after 5 days of test/interview..

Being a Sheikh means that they know everything about you. Big brother is watching you all the time ya Sheikh :) No need for a background check in this case

Just kidding ;D

yes my friend, but even this case is exceptional. The regular process usually does n't require a FP( As I know). My point is that all the people who receive a Finger print request are Muslims , However, not all Muslims get that.
I hope it is wrong. But that what I've noticed through my 4 years residency in Canada.

For those of you who got a fingerprint request, how long did it take for the letter to arrive in the mail?

My ecas was updated last Friday noting they sent correspondence requesting information (i.e. prolly fingerprints) on March 10.

It has been over a full week - surely it can't take that long for a letter to arrive from my local office (i.e. St. Clair or Mississauga).

Any thoughts?

got it in 5 business days
