Hello All,

Did your visa office ask for a copy of the CSQ?

My VO hasn't requested for it for now, but I know from looking at my VO's spreadsheet that some have been requested. I'm still waiting for them to request my RPRF as well, so I guess if they'll ask, it'll come with it. Gonna also see from my GCMS notes if they received it or not, once I will get them.

Congrats CanadianTO and mrsjamie! Hopefully the rest of us will follow soon!

Congratulations CanadienTO! That was a pretty straightforward process for you. I updated the spreadsheet.

Thank you very much :D

Hang in there folks! It's almost over for most of you... any time now!

I got my GCMS notes after about 3 months since the transfer. Nothing new really, no comments about relationship, but I noticed the following:

App status: open
App status reason: In Progress

Does this mean they have stated processing my application?

Also:
Criminality: not started
Security: not started
Medical: Passed

Just came across this case, and it got me thinking. As much the spotlight is on sponsored spouses duping their sponsors, some sponsors need to looked at seriously too. Here's the link: http://visalawcanada.blogspot.ca/2014/05/marriage-breakdown-sponsorship.html

He (the sponsor) accuses her (the sponsoree) of fraud marriage and she agrees it was. Not good for her own case.
How come she was able to come to Canada if he withdrawn his sponsorship? Looks like its taking some time for CIC to revoke a visa.

Probably because, the visa officer who left the message did not get to speak to her before she travelled. Now that I think of it, most airports don't scan your visa when you travel. It is at the destination country where the checks are done.

For all applicants from the Philippines, Good news from the flag carrier of the Philippines.
PAL posted on their facebook page and on their newspage on their website that the Philippines and Canadian governments are discussing of an air agreement which would allow PAL to fly to and from Canada twice a day.
This would allow more flexibility for people from provinces to finish their business in Manila before flying to Canada.
News can be found here: http://www1.philippineairlines.com/news-and-events/pal-eyes-increased-frequency-canada/

And on the same topic, Gumper we had a discussion about planning if ever you intend to fly with PAL, I gave you wrong information. I learned by reading this news that PAL is actually flying 7 days a week to YVR so it should make your planning easier. I got mistaken because I'm looking at YYZ flights which are 3 times a week right now.

I just got today in the email, the GCMS notes I ordered 1 month ago. I only ordered the notes concerning the sponsor as I consider it early to order the principal applicant ones.
As I expected, there is not much to talk about except 2 things that I was worried about and got confirmation of.
First of all, I paid the fees in 2 separate payments, sponsorship fee on application and RPRF after 3 months. Reading the notes, I got confirmation that they received and processed the second payment.
Secondly, I was wondering if Quebec's immigration sent a copy of CSQ to the VO in Manila. As sometimes I read on this forum, its not always getting through. I saw a note from the VO that states "note 1: CSQ details x PA updated in GCMS".
I was not so convinced it was useful but I'm happy I ordered that after all. :)
Have a good day.

Hi I'm also January 2014 applicant

In what stage of your application you are? Did you receive sponsorship approval yet? What is your visa office?
It is normal that the waiting time is long after sponsorship approval. Its taking average of 8-10 months after sponsorship approval depending on visa office.

We just got an email from immigration!

We're not in the clear yet. We are missing three documents which we need to provide within 60 days:
- an FBI criminal record check (which we have no idea how to get because we're living in Japan right now...)
- IMM 5409—Statutory Declaration of Common-law Union form
- copy of passport

Hopefully we will be able to get the criminal record check done in time. I'm happy that we are finally hearing back about our application but also stressed at the same time. Why couldn't they just be happy with the Japanese criminal record check we sent them? We've been here for 7 years now!

it took many many months to get the FBI clearance done, and this was done IN the USA... so either it will take just as long or it will be quicker if the FBI has an office in Japan..and they can get it all done from there. either way, congrats and good luck !
