January 2014 Citizenship Application - Timeline

I think I am in a catch-22 situation now. With the date of citizenship test still unknown, and that I must go "home" in less than 4 weeks, I will be "home" for 3 weeks, here is my situation.

1. The local office of my current residence is Kitchener, my "home" local office is Scarborough.
2. The reason I am in this place (Waterloo) is educational, the school term ends on August 16.

Usually, from past experience, CIC notifies applicants of their test date 2 to 3 weeks before the actual date. The problem is, if I leave everything alone, the test date might occur during the time I am "home", but if I change my address, a test date might be scheduled long after I return to the KW area.

I I have no experience with university students who write citizenship tests, who happen to have family in a city that is not where the school is located. If you have any advice, please reply here.

Spoke with CIC customer service agent and was informed that everything on my app is fine and I am in queue to be called for test, advised if possible not to travel in coming month.

A silly question, when you call CIC, how do you convince them to get status details such as safety checks completed, file transferred etc and specially in your case I read "you are in queue to be called for test".
I tried calling 2/3 times in last 2/3 months and 1st thing they ask is, when did you apply and on saying Nov 2013, all they say is wait for at least 1.5 year, since processing time is 24 months. I tried saying well my friends have got through in about six months from Scarborough and Mississauga (instead of saying about our forum) that's why I called and all one of the agent said is I've been working for really long time with CIC and I haven't seen anything like 6 months processing time.

Anyway just something to share with all our readers.

If there's a way to convince them, please let us know.

Called cic today... my file is still at sydney.. the agent was like the processing time is 2-3 years and didnt give me any further info.

in process: march 15

Test on Aug 7, 2014.
Local office Mississauga.

I checked online today and I got Citizenship test on August 11.

Everyone, Please check online if you get the date, update the dates so everyone can check their status. Do not wait till you get the notice in mail.

Click on In Process button and you can see the information.
