Hi, i am among the december applicant...my application got to mississauga on december 22/11, and i am sponsoring my husband-visa office accra, ghana.....my question is what is the difference between receipt of acknowledgement and sponsor approval? do you get both by mail or email? thank you as you reply....

Receipt of acknowledgement just means that they have recieved your application and will start to work on it. They will do the background check and when the officer at cic is satisfied with the application, he will send you an approval letter or an email and then they will forward it to their office in your country. This is step 1 where they asses the person who is sponsering his/her spouse. Step 2 involves assesment of the appplicant.

Hi Pelipeli,
Can I undergo medical examination even without the letter from the CEM?
Can you recommend a DMP here in manila, where I can have my medical examination?

Thanks! :)
God bless everybody! :) :) :)

Yey!!!!! hi batchmates!!! join ako dito! we'll be submitting ours on the 3rd week!!!! sana pasok pa din ako sa batch na to. buti na lang may thread na, i was abt to start a new one hehehe. :) lets do this waiting game together! you are my new bestfriends for the next couple of months! :D

Ok, finally I belong to this thread... I would like to thank you pelipeli for a very helpful link in organizing the application package, not sure how many kilos will be ours lol... I just forwarded your link to my husband for some guide. Brief summary about myself... I previously work in Canada 2008-2009 as temporary worker, met there my husband (now), we just got married last mo. Dec. 2, 2011 (we waited first for my annulment which was granted May 2011) we had a very pretty 2 year old girl born here in the Phils. whose Citizenship Certificate is on process now and hoping to get it by April of this year. My husband will probably receive the rest of the applications and supporting documents (NSO - Marriage Certificate) by Friday this week and we will focus this weekend to have it all ready for Monday, Jan. 30 to mail it to Mississuaga, Ontario.

It's been 3 years that finally we're submitting the right application, we were once a victim of a fake filipino immigration consultant named CRISTINE ANNE MENDOZA from Marikina (WARNING TO ALL HERE, BEWARE OF HER NAME) for my skilled worker application filed June 2010 which is up to now still hanging in the air (I ALREADY FILED A ESTAFA CASE AGAINST HER, WAITING FOR DECISION NOW), had tried 2 tourists visa last year for my husband 50th Birthday which was denied. Now, this is our last recourse the Spousal Application. We endure so much already and cant wait to have our little family be complete.

I am so happy that I belong to this January thread... GOODLUCK TO ALL OF US!!!

Hi nayakae, I just got my medical last Jan. 9, 2012 also at St. Luke's Medical Center at Bocobo St. in Ermita. Be firm when you tell nurses that letter from embassy is not necessary since you are applying under Family Class, they actually asked that from me. Just fill out the Appendix C along with 9 pcs. I think of passport size picture, photocopy of your passport and bring P4,200.00. It won't take you that long, I only spend 2 hours for my medical in the afternoon. Goodluck.

Hi nayakae, my hubby had his medical on Dec 19, at Nationwide Health in Makati. Yes, no letter is required, make sure you tell them you are applying for spouse sponsorship. You need to bring 9 passport sized photos, 2 copies of appendix C , photocopy of passport, bring your original passport, and it cost 4,000 plus 50 courier fee. He was done in less than 2 hours, but make sure you get there early before they open so you could be first in line. Good luck! =)
