Hi Ashunandal, The present situation of our case is:

As you know my husband went to Canada in Jan 2012 ,applied for sponsorship of our daughter who was born in India and had to come back in Feb 2012 due to poor heath conditions of his father(he had severe heart problem).
though he didnt have plans to come back initially.

Initially after PPR ,CHC asked us for proof of relation between me and my husband (Sponsor)and details of telephonic conversation between us and copies of all pages of sponsor's passport. .

In those records it became evident that my husband was in canada just for a month. But we clearly sent the reasons of his return to India that was medical reports of his father.

After this ,we got another letter from embassy in which they asked us for proof of residence in Canada through three things:

1.)Letter from employer stating Actual dates of employment in Canada
2.) Entry and exit stamps from India and Canada.
3 T4 and ITR in Canada.

After looking at passport we realized that his entry stamp in Canada was missing at the passport so we sent a no. of proofs which proved his residence in Canada.
Now before they had received these documents our ecas went in Process on 15th July.

In our first letter to embassy we clearly mentioned the Sponsor's date of arrival and departure in Canada.
Still they asked for his proof of residence in Canada so it must be for that period only.
My husband has to start with his medical residency in Canada in UBC on 18th August so he is leaving on 15th August (CHC knows about this since we have supplied with no. of proofs for this along with his confirmed ticket on 15th Aug)

Really stressed up.Please put some light if you understand our situation.

ohh ok, PR sponsors are supposed to stay inside Canada during whole processing except small trips. if you have provided enough reasons for sponsor leaving Canada, it should work. if your ECAS is showing "in process", you will get DM soon because there will be no background checks in case of child under 18.
hope you receive your daughter's visa soon
best of luck :)

:o I can hardly believe it.. I really didn't expect this so soon. I am still stunned...My husband got the e-mail today!!! The request for PPR e-mail!!!!!! :o :o ;D ;D ;D ;D

So in process August 2nd, and PPR on August 8th!! We have 20 days to get his passport to them in LA.

by the way, the e-mail only offers instructions for mailing the passport from within the States or Canada, but we are in Taiwan. Does that mean that instructions for Canada basically apply to us? As in, we don't send the return envelop like the instructions for within the States said?

Congratulations!!!! :)

Thank you very much :)

Does any one know if it takes longer to get visa people with travel history????

My husband hasn't lived in his own country for 10 years or so. He's traveled A LOT and has had numerous resident visas in various countries. We were worried about that too, but it took our app 7 months total from the time CIC received it in Mississauga to approval. I figure that's not too long.

Hi Amoss,
So your husband got his Visa already?
It tooks 7 months all Together,, That's not bad.. I have heard some people's case take so much longer..
Thanks

We don't have the visa yet. But they requested it a week ago and we mailed his passport last Saturday. But yeah, 7 months isn't long at all! I mean, it felt like forever at the time, but it's best just to forget about it for a while or it can drive you crazy!

When did you apply?

Hey all -- I was very happy to check my mail today and see the PPR request waiting for me!!!

Please update the Jan & Feb spreadsheets since in my case I seem to straddle both...

Medical Done: Nov 22, 2011
Application Sent: Jan 31, 2012
Application Received: Feb 1, 2012
Sponsorship Approved: May 4, 2012
PPR Request: Aug 14, 2012!!!!

I was prepared to wait for 13 months after the Sponsorship approval - so I'm so very happy to see the processing is going far faster than anything I could have hoped for!!

CONGRATULATIONS!!! This is exciting news for you! What office was your visa office if I may ask? It seems like some people are getting emails versus some are getting physical mail. Congrats again!!!
