Well, I think I am the oldest outstanding sponsorship application from January. Any advice from anyone? I'm not even in their system yet. I have made an appointment to go to my MP's office on Tuesday, but that is still so long from now.

Actually, i am the oldest one and my application was received on Jan 18 and still not in their system. The MP will do something for you? >:(

You're Singapore as well? I guess we are both in for yet a looooooooooooong wait.

I guess for Singapore they have some special queries and/or long waiting time (22 months!!! :( ). That's why they are delaying :( :( :(

CIC updated 89 days still working on applications received on February 1st!

Don't know. Just tryng...

Hi,

Our application for inland sponsorship was received December 30th but I'm pretty sure they only started working on it in January :P

Last week we received 2 letters from the CIC, one requesting that we begin the CSQ paperwork and one stating that we should begin the paperwork (police certificates, valid passport etc) for the CIC.
We sent the paperwork for the CSQ last week and it was received May 2nd.

From my understading, this is odd... normally you have to get the CSQ, send it in to the CIC before they ask that you begin the paperwork for the CIC. Is this correct?

Does anyone know how long it takes to get the CSQ?

Also, my husband came here claiming refugee status, he was denied (obviously) so we began the sponsorship process. Now the CBSA has his passport, we asked them to release it and were denied because he is still in the PRRA process and because his residency hasnt been accepted yet (which makes no sense, he needs a valid passport to get his residency).

We're not sure what to do at this point because the CBSA has basically blocked us from going forward. We're thinking of just going to the consulate and making a new passport and just saying he doesn't have his old expired one.

Has anyone had to deal with something like this before... I'm kind of at a loss.... :(

Thanks for any advice anyone can offer :)

Sorry I didn't see you on the spreadsheet! From what I have heard, they can look into it for you... Really, I'm not too overly sure, just desperate!

Just want to give you a heads-up, my app sent on January 2x, got Approval in May 2, file transferred to Sing. Give CIC a shout, get your client ID#, courrier # (canadapost, DHL,..), and receipt # ready, they will ask for those. This will make them work harder to find your application. It seems those with Singapore VO will have to overcome more bumps than others. Lack of political influence I guess.

I am a canadian citizen, sponsoring my husband (applicant)who is an Indian national living and working in Saudi Arabia. We got married in Dec and I am staying with him in Riyadh. We selected New Delhi as our visa office. Processing time is 6 months for New Delhi. Just wondering how long it would take us, since my husband is outside India. Also, how long does the New delhi VO take to issue the visa once it receives the passport?

Also, any suggestions or tips to expedite our process?

hi jun479processing time for first stage approval (sponsorship approval) is 89 days now and after getting sponsorship approval your file will be transferred to ND. ND will request his passport within 15-20 days after file transfer and your husband will have to go to India for that and wait for his PR there. he wont be able to send his passport via courier or post because its illegal to send passport to and from india. if he sends his passport with someone else travelling to India, he can get into a big trouble if there is any interview scheduled for him. since he is living in Saudi, processing time will be longer for him because of background checks (more travel history means longer background checks). it depends how long he has been in saudi or out of India. hope you hear some good news soon
good luck :)

thanks how much time it will take for stamping and he is staying their for 2.5 yrs. in these duration he travel too times to india.

Shoot, could they even know it is for the Singapore VO before looking at the file?

if it is only 2.5 years and no criminal record, no govt job, no divorce and no interview then he will get his visa within 5-6 months after file transfer to ND.
best of luck :)

Yesterday's update has bummed me out! I have to add another week to my ticker and it will probably get worse. =(
