Expecting lot of applications to go through tomorrow and day after so that the "working on" date moves very close to January since there aren't many applications in December (although this is purely on the assumption whoever applied in december registered on the dec thread).

I hope we Januarians will get our time very very soon ( I am the first one in the line "technically" :D)

yup u r first in line, we are cheering for you and we will certainly be waiting for your updates! :)

Thanks peli peli...I am looking at Feb 29th (Wednesday) as the worst case scenario day when I should hear something from CIC. Hoping that sponsorship approval happens by end of Feb and File transfer to New Delhi, INDIA in Mar 1st week and avg time of 40 days for PPR means Apr 18 and avg time of 50 days from PPR to DM means end of May (hopefully)

I am too optimistic (Touchwood) :D

dont worry, u r not alone there, i have also estimated my hubby's timeline up to landing, just see my timeline at the side, lol. i think we all are optimistic and hopeful that our approvals, File transfers, PPR's and visas will come as we estimate them to come, or even earlier! :)

If anyone notices missing info from your row on the spreadsheet let me know.

i think December will be finished soon u'll get it before the end of February ;) because during the Holidays the offices were closed so less applications received ;)

but please if possible don't count the days until PPR so loudly; some of us r counting days but others r counting years :'( it's very hard for the state of mind

i agree. that is why we from manila VO created a separate thread and spreadsheet because our PPR's and Visas are processed faster than some VO's and we dont want to "upset" others when we begin celebrating for the arrival of PPR's and visas. but ofc i hope you guys wont mind if we give our good news here, we would just at least leave the "loud celebrations" in our thread , lol :)

no no do share the good news and any updates from ur VO's (if they ask u for documents, etc)....of course i will be happy for u and the rest....i personally am not upset when others get their visa, OF COURSE NOT, the only thing which is bothering is this unfair system when some wait 2-3 months and others wait 2-3 years just because God wanted us to be born in another side of the world; that is what is upsetting and i don't want to be reminded of that every day ::) :( because really we cannot change it, just live with it

yeah that is why a separate thread for each VO is more useful....here we'll all celebrate the sponsor side more or less in the same time but then we are all kind of on separate ways....some will already be landed and counting days until citizenship while others will still wait :( the only thing which keeps me going is the hope that the processing times r actually less in reality than what's mentioned :)

I want to apply to canada. I am single and the only member of my family is my mom. I cannot leave her in my home country. Can I apply considering my mother as dependant?

Well that is not possible( as per my knowledge of the CIC system so far)...The way out is you better apply for PR first and then file for Super Visa for your mom so she can be with you continuously for 2 yrs...

Hi, after the application materials have been sent to the CIC, do they send an email or anything to you to let you know that they have received your package?

Thank you.

Yes. But do not expect that atleast for the next 2 months (Approximately). For now the only way to be assured that your package landed up at CIC is through the courier delivery confirmation (If you signed up for one)

Thanks,
Srini

Spreadsheet has been updated and corrected! ;D

Have a gret day everyone!

I was just wondering, do I need to make an update in Canada to reflect that I was married outside the country. I got married three weeks ago, but have not been in Canada for about a year. I'm going to file my taxes, even though I didn't have any income, soon. Is this where I update my marriage status or is there something else I need to update as well? Thanks!
