CONGRATS ALICATSHAW ..... this is the main thing as we all know that police ceetificate exppires in 6 months so we better keep ourselves updated with new police certificate so the time when they ask we just give them right away

thanks for posting!

My husband lived in 5 different countries since he was 18 and getting all those criminal record checks was a pain in the butt! in particular Japan... which is sooooo slow.

I will let you guys know if they ask for more stuff

Hi everyone, I called CIC again (i was on hold for 15 mins, huhu, phone bill is gonna be huge) and the agent said, they are working on Feb 1 so they should have an update by now. But when she checked she said they are still making some verification on my application and should wait and call again if no word has been received by May 28 (ridiculous... that's too long).

Then, I tried to log in to ecas using my Client ID (as sponsor) and surprise surprise, I was able to log in. I have my name, address, my hubby's name, but still under Sponsorship Application Status and Permanent Residence Application Status - still "Application Received"

Glad that there is one positive thing today, and hopefully, wishful thinking, that since they have uploaded our info on ecas, we will also be getting approval soon.. I really really hope and pray.. its 97 days now... :'(

Found this on another forum. It's old, but...hopeful

Hi.I got the answer to my own question today so I thought i would share. The embassy mailed us a letter stating that we do not need to redo the police report from your home country (if you are not living there now as we are) unless you went back for over 6 months.
In case anyone was wondering.

May 28! :o That is ridiculous! Well, it's great news in a way that you can log in to ecas now. Knowing that someone has reviewed your file enough to enter it into the system is a huge leap in the beginning.

Sorry yours is taking so long in this initial stage. In my opinion, from reading other forum members, CIC likes to exaggerate processing times all the time (i.e. May 28). Gotta think that way with your situation too ;) ;)

Application signed on January 18 in Mississauga and now still waiting. Not even a word at all. My package was signed by Sergio at Mail Room.

Called many times already - the answer is "not in the system"

thats really very strange as you mentioned that you send your file in JANUARY and now a days if you see on website so they in process of 82 days

(working on applications received on February 1, 2012)

i hope that everything is fine in your application & even if application is not complete they keep it on side and will resend u to complete
fingers crossed i hope that soon u'll get your AOR
