Hello everyone,

I applied for EE as single in Aug 2019, got OINP 600 points in Nov 2019, got invitation of PR in Dec 2019 then AOR in Jan 2020. Total point is 1050. Since MEP passed, my background check status remains the same as "We are processing your background check. We will send you a message if we need more information". However, maybe in 2 to 6 months I am going to get married. Hope can get your advice for the following questions:

1. Is getting married before PPR risky for immigration approval?
I've searched in this forum, around 2017 we have some cases of getting married before landing or around PPR, this can help a couple to get visa at same time. However, now we have coronavirus, don't know if i submit my spouse's PCC and other documents, will i be rejected?

2. If I apply for spousal sponsorship route after landing, i guess i have to stay in canada during the whole approval stage?
If i choose to get PR first and then get married, then apply for spousal sponsorship, i guess i have to be in canada for the whole approval period? So if we want to meet each other, he can only come with a visitor visa?

3. No matter which method i choose, he doesn't need to take IELTS and ECA right?

Thanks for reading and hope can get your advice.

Get married now and try to get your spouse visa processed along with you. With Covid-19 uncertainty, no one knows how much time they will take to process the application. Use this opportunity and try to through it while you can. Landing there, sponsoring your wife, whole new story and that too with Covid-19 backlog will be another chapter.

I would suggest be quick and grab the opportunity
