Ministerial Instructions respecting invitations to apply for permanent residence under the Express Entry system #51 – January 4, 2016

The Minister of Citizenship and Immigration, pursuant to section 10.3 of the Immigration and Refugee Protection Act, gives the annexed Ministerial Instructions Respecting Invitations to Apply for Permanent Residence under the Express Entry System (January 4, 2016).

MINISTERIAL INSTRUCTIONS RESPECTING INVITATIONS TO APPLY FOR PERMANENT RESIDENCE UNDER THE EXPRESS ENTRY SYSTEM (JANUARY 4, 2016)

Determination — number of invitations

1. (1) For the purposes of paragraph 10.2(1)(b) of the Immigration and Refugee Protection Act, the number of invitations that may be issued during the period beginning on January 4, 2016 and ending on January 5, 2016 is XXX.

Determination – required rank

(2) Foreign nationals who, on January 4, 2016 at 13:XX:XX UTC, have been assigned a total of XXX points or more under the Comprehensive Ranking System that is set out in the Ministerial Instructions Respecting the Express Entry System, as published in the Canada Gazette, Part I, on December 1, 2014 and as amended from time to time, occupy the rank required to be invited to make an application for permanent residence.

For me this would mean, they will have a draw for sure tommorrow and they will just update the number of invitees and CRS score, once the draw is done.

But then with CIC, you never know.

My understanding is that it would be updated after 1 O clock EST as the time says - 13:XX:XX UTC and the total invites seem as per this to be less than 999. Just a guess

Edit: Missed the date. So tomorrow after 1 PM. Any ways number of invites thing still holds true!

I just opened the CIC website before I went to bed as I do everyday and couldn't believe my eyes. Tried refreshing the page a few times. Then came here to check. At least I am happy that I was not hallucinating.

This is just crazy. We are so eagerly waiting for a draw with no clue as to what will happen and then CIC does this with us???

I just hope XXX does not mean less than 1000 ITAs. I have until May after which my scores will reduce to 457 from 462. I am so hoping that scores will come down to 462 and lower before May. CIC please don't play with us.

I just pray that xxx thing doesnt come true. It will be a massive setback for everyone.
