Hello Every one,

Me and my girl friend (Canadian citizen) are going to marry soon in Canada. Does both of my parents should present in the civil marriage pictures to be part of spousal application? Our both side parents cant attend this and they aware about this. Our religious marriage will be later to civil marriage in back home.

is this situation going to be a problem for spousal application?

Filed my application for both premanet residence and opw in one envelope on dec 14 th 2016 and havent received anything yet...i heard it takes at least a month for applications in missisauga so hopefully will get in soon..will keep you updated.

Yes i received Aor on the 11th Jan. I used the old application btw. No waiting for more updates. I called cic today and the machine said they are processing after august 2016 application so we re stilla long before we even get started...

Doesn't the OWP get sorted first after the AOR?

The owp gets processed in another place i see from other post, but i m not sure...and i think inland applications are processed in canada not like outland through visa office of the country you come from..but again i m not sure

So for everyone else applying using the new kit... what are you doing about the police checks and medical? It specifically states not to submit them until requested and that you only have 30 days once requested.

Would it not take longer than 30 days to get both of these done? And if done sooner could the police checks not potentially become invalid whilst waiting for the request?

if it takes longer than 30 days to have these done, then the applicant can request an extension and one will most likely be given.

for a lot of countries, it's possible to start the police check process prior to it being requested. for US applicants, it's good to get that started as soon as possible since it can take up to 4 months to receive it directly from the FBI and it's not required to have a request from IRCC to initiate the report. even though it suggests not to submit it with your application, it doesn't necessarily mean you couldn't start the process of getting the report - assuming your country allows you to do so without a specific request from IRCC.

what do you mean for ottawa?

are you assuming you need a police clearance from Canada?

if so, you don't:

if a report is required for CAnada, IRCC will request this later. so you do not need to worry about getting a clearance from Canada, you only need one for the UK.
