Hello everybody,I'll be going abroad and will stay about 1 month. I hope they don't call me for the citizenship test in between this period.
Is there anybody who asked postpone for his/her citizenship test? I've been told not to try it however I couldn't understand why.
Just in case, any ideas ?

Very strange. My timeline is almost identical as well.
App received on Jan 28
In Process: May 28
Transferred to local office: June 08

And It hasn't changed anything after that. I wonder if they have lost ours in the local office....LoL. Pathetic and Yes, my local office supposed to be Scarborough as I live in Markham.

There are certainly errors that happen in Scarborough. I never got a notice to write the test from them, so I called ahead to the call centre and learned where I had to go. There was one other person there on the day I took said test, that didn't get a notice, either. I can't speak of other days where mistakes may happen, but if my experience was any indication, it is possible that they may have misplaced a few people's files, for sure. The Scarborough CIC office is indeed a really busy place when I was there, so I can understand how things may happen.

The funny thing about my test experience was right after I took the test. I was waiting in the next room for my citizenship interview, when I was called back into the testing room, and was told that I didn't even have to write the test, because I was 55 and over. That was the funny part, because I'm only 42. Clearly, the guy was quite embarrassed when I pointed that out, and he said not to worry. First time I was ever accused of being too old for something. ;D

I have learned from my experience with the landing process, that it is a very good idea to be proactive with your file in dealing with CIC.

Back in the beginning of 2012, when they finished with my immigration application, I never got a notice to send in my passport, so my wife ordered the notes on my file through a freedom of information request. After the both of us tried to decipher these notes, it looked like there was nothing else that needed to be done. So I emailed the visa office in Detroit to inquire about my progress, and that was when they emailed me back, directing me to send in my passport, so that I could receive my COPR. Had I not done this, my file might have been closed, and I wouldn't be the wiser.
