Much to my surprise, I received my invitation to take the test on July 29th @ 1:01 pm via e-mail today.

Hi Gpin, I think I am sailing in the same boat as you when it comes to slowness of citizenship application. We are a family of three and I applied on Jan 12, 2015, got AOR on March 2nd 2015, case went into processing on May 08, 2015 and then on two occasions briefly the ecas showed that our files were transferred to local scarborough office on June 02, 2015 (This happened around the time when the local office transfer line was appearing and disappearing for applicants), but now for almost 30-40 days the local office transfer line is permanently gone and only we started processing you application on May 08, 2015 is showing on ecas. One most important thing I noticed while checking ecas that when scrolled down to the very bottom line the extreme right hand side of the page showed "date modified June 02, 2015(it is precisely the date the ecas earlier showed twice as date of local office transfer before going out permanently. However a fortnight before I noticed that date modified thing has changed to June 16, 2015, with everything else unchanged on ecas. Its crazy and I don't know what to infer from this.

Hello AnwarR,

Thanks for sharing your dilemma. Our ecas was last modified on 16th june.It is comforting to know that we are not the only odd ones out .Kindly keep us updated on any progress.

Hi! I downloaded two iPhone apps named Canadian citizenship tests. But again, you really do need to read the book at least once so you'll have some idea of what to expect. Most important part is history and famous persons names

Check Apna Toronto, Richmond Public Library and http://www.v-soul.com/ for citizenship reviewers.

Good Luck to all!

Good news and bad news guys.

What do you want to hear first? Ok Ok.

The good news is that I received my test (YELLOW) letter invite today to take the Scarborough office on Aug 7. I guess the Mississauga office has a huge volume or something. I don't know. This is the good news obviously though my ecas is still missing line 4.

Now onto the bad news. The bad news is that, I will be out of the country during that time for 3 weeks. Everything has been booked, scheduled and paid for. I can not for crying out loud cancel and/or reschedule my trip.

I hate the way CIC operates. I knew the time between test notice and test day was about 2 - 3 weeks. That is why I waited till 3 weeks ago to book and pay for my 3 week trip. I guess I was hoping that I would be scheduled for some time in late August after I came back to Canada. It sucks as I didn't really want to reschedule taking the test. I've been patient enough but I hate I have to reschedule. Damn!!!!

I wonder how far back in line they will put me now if/when I call CIC. I hate this scenario!

Your thoughts...

To be honest with you...I would cancel that trip unless it was a matter of your life and death (or someone elses that you really really really really really REALLY REALLY care about)
