Why is it that on the spreadsheet I can see that 4 people haven't received their AOR, yet in the stats bellow it it reads only 2 haven't ? What's up with the discrepancy ?

Hi all from another Jan applicant from Toronto (Scarborough).

App. Sent: Jan 20, 2015
App. Received: Jan 26, 2015 (CanadaPost Express)
AOR in Email only: Mar 10, 2015

Hello fellow Jan applicants!

After reading in the Feb thread about someone calling CIC and hearing that their application was In Process even though ecas was only showing Received, I decided to try the same thing!

I called the number: 1-888 242-2100, then pressed 4, 1, and 0 (thanks John_Dorry for the info!), and waited on hold for ten minutes, then talked to a lovely guy who checked my status at his end. He told me that even though my ecas still says Received, my application was in fact In Process in Sydney, but had not yet been transferred to a local office. It gave me a bit of happiness to hold onto while waiting for the next steps :) And it only took up a couple of minutes of the agent's time :)

Just wanted to let you all know in case anyone else was getting as itchy as me for some news!!

Hi kiwicanuck, just curious about the 4, 1, and 0... It transfers the call somewhere else and not to a service agent?
Thanks!

Hi all,

My file was transferred to Mississauga on March 31st
In-process on March 23rd
AOR on February 25th
Received January 9th

Can someone please update the sheet? Can't seem to do it. Thx

Did the guy indicate when your status will change from "Received" to "In Process"?

No he didn't say. I do wish ecas would hurry up and change already. Getting tired of logging on each day to see Received!

And for whoever asked - the sequence of numbers is just to navigate the automated answer system to speak to an agent.

Hi CanV,

Yes, I applied from down-town Toronto and my ecas says that my file was sent to the Mississauga office. Not sure how they decided between that or Scarborough...

You got AoR so things with your Application is good you are in the same boat as many of the Jan applicants, you cannot do much. Get it out of your mind go ahead and enjoy life focus on other things and check only occasionally, this is the CIC we are dealing and it will go to the step when it goes.

Totally agree !
Getting you AOR means that you escaped the 4/6 rule, which is the major concern for applicants nowadays. It's now a matter of months before you become Canadian. So don't worry.
