Hello everyone,

I'm reaching out for advice as I find myself in a situation that's been ongoing for six months since I received my eCoPR, and yet, I haven't received my PR card. I would greatly appreciate any insights and suggestions regarding what my next steps should be. Here's a timeline of events for context:

  • April 5th: Received PR status.
  • April 14th: Received Confirmation of Permanent Residence (CoPR).
  • May 5th: Requested to upload a new photo due to facial expression concerns.
  • May 6th: Uploaded a new photo and received confirmation of successful submission.
  • July 12th: Photo status indicated as "In Review with IRCC."
  • July 20th: PR Portal status shows "Case status: Closed and accepted," while photo status remains "In Review with IRCC."
  • July 31st: Photo status indicated as "Ready to submit to IRCC," with the Add/Edit Button available.
  • August 11th to today (October 22nd): Photo status remains "In Review with IRCC."
  • October 5th: Received an email from an agent after submitting a webform, stating, "Your permanent resident card (PR card) has been approved and sent for production." However, my PR Portal still indicates "In Review with IRCC."
  • October 18th: I called the helpline to inquire about the process after being told it was approved and sent for production. The call agent mentioned that my card has not yet been processed and still needs to go through a few more steps, which contradicted the agent's previous email.
As it's evident, the delay appears to be linked to issues with my photo submission. It's been 6 months and it's not even my fault anymore. After numerous attempts to resolve this, the process has taken an emotional toll on me. I've reached out to their help center almost 30 times, and while they have assisted me on occasions, there are times when they have advised me to wait. In my most recent interaction, I was informed that they can no longer offer any further assistance and that my only option is to wait. This situation has left me feeling anxious, especially since I have travel plans in November.

I'm wondering if there is anyone within this forum who has encountered a similar problem and, if so, if they might be able to share their experience. I'm feeling quite stressed as it seems I've reached a standstill in resolving this matter, and any guidance would be greatly appreciated.

Thank you and I really appreciate any insight you may have.

I think your PR card must really be pending print and will be mailed out soon.

Oct 18th call probably just hinted that it wasnt yet printed.

Link you PR card to GCKey using steps here - https://www.canada.ca/en/immigration-refugees-citizenship/services/application/account/link-paper-online.html and let us know what is the status.

Hi, thank you for your response. MP do you mean the Members of Parliament https://www.ourcommons.ca/members/en/search?province=ON ? Can we just contact them?
Yes, your member of parliament. And yes, you can just contact them.

And do I need to contact the MP based on my home location or the location of my IRCC PR approval office which in my case is Etobicoke, ON? Thank you so much, your detailed response will be appreciated :)
The MP represents you, not the office of the government.

Hello, thank you for your reply. I have linked my PR Card application to my CIC GCKey in July 21st, and didn't received any updates until Sept 27th that says: Final decision - September 27, 2023: Your application is in progress. We will send you a message once the final decision has been made.

There are no new updates after that. What do you think of this message?

Thank you so much for your reply. Just 1 more question as I'm still a bit confuse, so I can just reach out to any MP (https://www.ourcommons.ca/members/en/search?province=ON) ?
You should reach out to the MP that relates to the address where you reside. If the sponsor currently doesn't reside in Canada, base it on some tie with the riding - where family lives, where you plan to live, own property, or whatever.

Awesome! This really helpful, thank you so much! I'll reach out to the MP that relates to my current address. Thank you so much! :)

De nada.

APologies for the reference to 'sponsor', was thinking a different kind of case. In this context, whatever address relates to the PR holder (or close family).

That status likely means it is under printing.
