Hi there,
I've read through a few posts regarding what the required documentation is if you declare that you have a relative who is a citizen or permanent resident in Canada already, but I could not find the answer to a few remaining questions:
#1 Is it mandatory to declare that you have relatives who are citizens/PR even if you will not gain any points? I am applying under CEC, which, I believe, does not gain any points for having Canadian relatives. Is it OK to select "No" in the Family section of the "Personal Details" page of the application ("Does <name> have a relative who is a citizen or permanent resident of Canada?") or is this grounds for refusal? I've read mixed answers on this and would appreciate an answer from someone who has been awarded PR and answered "No" even if they had relatives as citizens/PR of Canada.
#2 If it is mandatory to declare relatives, does the applicant have to declare all relatives and provide proof for each one? My mother has a brother and sister living in Canada as citizens, so cutting down on half of the work would be ideal.
#3 For the proof of relationship, is it as simple as providing the name page of my mother, uncle, and aunt's passports, or is something more comprehensive involved?
Many thanks for any information you all can provide
cheers,
z
