ITA received with wrong score

Hello everyone,

I received ITA under CEC in the latest draw of September 7, 2016 with a cutoff of 491 points. My CRS score was 465 but in my ITA it shows that my CRS score is 499. Somehow they agave me additional 35 points for Canadian work experience (for more than one year of work experience in Canada), although I still have not completed one year of skilled work in Canada. However I will complete one year on October 5, 2016.

So what should I do? should I reject the ITA and wait for next draw or should I accept it and submit my final application after October 5 when I would have completed one year of skilled work? If I reject the ITA then there is a risk that the next draw might not have such lower cutoff, and if I submit the application after October 5 then can the visa officer raise the question that I got 35 points by mistake and without them I do not meet eh cutoff. This has happened with me earlier too. Last time I got an ITA and I got 35 additional points for my more than one year of foreign work experience in the last 10 years. However later it turned out that I got those points by a so called glitch in their system. when I go back 10 years in time since the submission of my application I got 10 months of work experience instead of 12 months and the visa officer rejected my PR application. I don't know why this keeps happening to me. Please tell me what would be the right thing to do.

Cheers
Anshul

Your profile freezes when you receive ITA. So waiting until after October 5 doesn't matter, because you didn't have 1 year of experience when you received ITA.
So imo, you need to reject this ITA.

hi Anshul,

This is happened to me many times. Currently, the system is getting only the month information, not the date information. That is the reason you got 35 points without completing 1 year of CE. But I heard from many people that CIC will look into the 1-year completion strictly it seems. So you can go ahead do what Istari told you.

Hi Guys,

Thanks a lot for your responses. So I guess I should decline this ITA and wait for the next round. I also thought the same but my lawyer said that it wont matter if we accept it after October 5 when I will complete one year at my job.

I was about to do it but then my situation changed again. Today i received my LMIA approval from the company I am working for. So this means that I will get additional 600 points to my score. so should I still decline this ITA and then change the score in my profile and then wait for the next draw or should I proceed with accepting this ITA? will the CIC again raise this question that at the time of ITA I did not have enough points?

Thanks once again for your suggestions.

Regards,
Anshul

I've answered this in another thread.
Decline the ITA.

Hi Guys,

Thanks once again for all your answers. I have just one last question. As I said earlier, I got my LMIA approved a few days a ago and got the offer letter yesterday. However, the start date for the job is October 1, 2016. So I was wondering if I will get the additional 600 points in my profile now or only after October 1. I mean can I update the profile now or should I wait till October 1, 2016?

Assuming you have declined this ITA, then yes, you can add the job offer to your profile now. But you still won't be eligible until Oct 5, when you complete one year.
