Thanks you Rehanacca and DelPiero07. My consultant had suggested me to re-take one and keep it just in case there is a query. That's why I was curious if this was necessary at all.

Seems like your consultant is just trying to be a smartass. You can give test if you want but that's not mandatory as IELTS would be valid at the time of your application submission.

IRCC never ever rejects an application due to this reason. Those rejections must have been due to some other issue. Your age, IELTS and WES is all locked at AOR stage and this is itself mentioned by the case officer in your file.Now thats a bit harsh
There's no risk of rejection due to this. It doesn't matter what their intent is, rather, the fact that they are consultants and are ignorant about this is worrisome.Now thats a bit harsh
