Hi All,

Me and my wife have received ITA and the file submission date is Dec 2018 . At this point WE are expecting and its been 5 Months and due date is March and she is the primary applicant , We have quires on Medicals and visa process after receiving PR.

1. How to go about wife Medical's - Here 2 option we have in front , not to complete the medicals fully i.e excluding Chest X ray , and later after baby is born we can do and submit with baby's doc , passport and other docs. - Please suggest this will be more time consuming or not as our medicals also will expiry on DEC 2019.

OR do the X ray fully and proceed. > in this case what if we receive the VISA and baby is born , can we both travel without the baby and later once reached there can we start the baby's process to Canada. > how to proceed about this.

please help

I was in a similar situation like you - I submitted my PR application when my spouse was in her 7th month of pregnancy. I added my new born baby when application was at IP1 stage. Currently I am waiting for the final decision ( I am in IP2).
1) Our Gynaecologist gave a go ahead to do the X Ray after first tri semester - We did the X Ray during the 7th month of pregnancy and the hospital told us that its 100% safe and they also used proper protection to cover the womb.
2) Once the baby is born - you can add him/her to the application at any time before landing. If you land in canada and then baby is born then he/she is a citizen

Let me know if you have more questions.

You will have to enter Canada within the year of medicals expiry. Now if you enter without your child, then you will have to do child sponsorship process separately once you have become PR- It takes around an year. That means you guys will have to live separately. Also tourist visa will be almost impossible for child as parents will be PR

Yes, you are good to go for medicals just now as she is way over her 1st trimester. The hospital/clinic will make her wear an abdomen lead apron for baby's protection and generally, the x-ray dose is very less so don't worry.

All the best!
