ITA received, FSW or CEC

Hello,

I received my ITA yesterday. I met both FSW and CEC but I am invited to apply through FSW. I was planning to apply through CEC. I learned in this forum that I should have not checked that I have a job offer in order to meet only CEC while I was creating my profile. I am trying to decide whether I should apply with my current invitation for FSW or reject the invitation and create a new profile to meet CEC only but I have a few questions before I make a decision.

1) I currently live and work in Canada and I got an LMO before to work at my current company. If I apply for FSW now, should I provide a new LMIA?

2) I already work in Canada, do I still need to provide proof of funds for FSW? The reason I ask is this post and what it says at the end: "N.B. You do not have to show that you have these funds if you have arranged employment in Canada": canadavisa.com/canada-immigration-discussion-board/proof-of-funds-requirements-explained-t45043.0.html

3) Would I lose points if I create a new profile only to meet CEC and not check I have a job offer(so no LMIA) and only show in the work history that I have been working in Canada for a job that require LMIA/LMO and I obtained the LMO? My CRS is 960 with Canadian work experience 40 and Arranged Employment 400 included.

Thank you.

Hi there! No need to be worried and reject your invitation to apply. I am in the same situation - eligible under both programs. Yesterday have go my Invitation to Apply under FSW, but actually was planning to apply under CEC. What I wanted to say is that in my Express Entry profile i submitted only my work experience from Canada without any mentioning my experience from home. And still was selected under FSW. I was worried same as you, so asked my immigration adviser what to do. She told me that this invitations are automatically generated and it picks the first criteria met. That is why they check your eligibility after. So i will be applying under CEC even tho I got invitation under FSW.

Slightly incorrect.

If you're eligible for both FSW and CEC, you will always be invited under FSW. And if you are invited under FSW, you cannot then choose to apply under CEC because your personalized checklist will prompt you for POF, for instance, and you will have to provide the required documentation.

Thank you for your replies!

Asivad, if I try to meet only CEC by NOT checking I have a valid job offer in the profile and only indicate my Canadian work experience(with LMO) in the Work History, can I still get 600 points for LMIA?

So what do I need to do in order to be selected just under CEC? Do I have to reject my invitation to apply and modify my profile? But I will not be saying truth then as I answered honestly to all the questions asked...

Mango,

I learned that you shouldn't check "Do you have a valid job offer?" question in order to be eligible only for CEC.

Then add only your work history in Canada.

If you have 960 points and are working on an LMIA (LMO) you do not need to show proof of funds. That IS "arranged employment". You DO need your employer to state unequivocally in your reference letter that you will be employed as a permanent employee if you are granted PR.

If you now have an LMIA and 960 points, your score without that employment is 360. No one with 360 points has gotten an invitation yet.

To be eligible only for CEC based on my experience

Answer no to question do yo have valid job offer. Please note if you have LMIA (not LMO) you cannot answer no to this question. You have to answer Yes.
Put zero to question how much money you have

By doing those two you will be Ineligible for FSW

To be eligible for cec:
You have to have 1 yr exp in Canada in NOC 0 or A or B
You need to graduate from Canadian schools/univ (this one I m not sure tho. But I am a graduate from Canadian Universit. So it could be wrong)

You cannot claim 600 points from LMIA under CEC. Because you will be invited under FSW even if you are eligible for both.

I would say the difference between CEC and FSw is the documents asked by cic.
They ask more for FSW than for CEC.

Thank you for your replies! Found some information on CIC.

What is included in the ITA?
The ITA invites the candidate to apply under a specific class (i.e., FSWC, FSTC, CEC or PNC). A candidate cannot apply under a class other than the one specified in their ITA, even when the candidate appears to be eligible for multiple classes.[/color]

Sounds like I have to reject this invitation to apply as I am not really strong for FSW(((((

Thank you dobes for taking the time to answer in detail and for your answer in the other thread. You clarified everything for me. Cheers.

Thank you Hansdza. The information you gave about job offer and claiming LMIA points were very helpful.

How long do they take to update the status of the application and change the eligibility for FSW from Yes to No? Thanks!

Can you also confirm that it is fine to list foreign work experience in the application, on top of the required 1+ year of canadian work experience?
