Hello,

I received the ITA in 14th draw.

I have $12,000 in my account (Here in Canada + in India). Some has been gifted by my father (you told me that would work)

I have an important question:

I recently received a post graduate work permit after having finished Masters from U of A in Edmonton.

To pay for my education, there is a loan of $40,000 pending on my name in a bank in India.

CIC states that apart from POF, you should also disclose any credits or loans outstanding on your name.

Since I am fulfilling their condition of $12,000 POF and all other components of my application are in order, can having $40,000 loan pending on my name result in my application being refused, despite the fact that I am showing $12,000 POF?

Thanks in advance!!!

First up, Congratulations!

Make sure your bank certificate does not mention this loan. CIC does not ask for full disclosure of personal finances. Else anyone holding a property mortgage would never be eligible for PR because CIC doesn't let you count the assets!

Just get a bank certificate showing that you have 12000 CAD and that would suffice.

Asivad, just a question more.

A couple of years back while applying for student visa of Canada from India, I disclosed this loan.

So, can they go back and check my documents that I submitted while applying for student visa? Because they show loan

My personal opinion on that is if we assume that they go back and check, the loan was taken 2.5 years back and not disclosed by the applicant now could also mean that its been paid off. Isn't it?

Would really appreciate your opinion on that

Thanks in advance

Don't worry about it. CIC wants POF only to ensure that you have sufficient monies to manage your finances for at least a year before you start earning or living on welfare.

The loan doesn't matter. Just get a bank certificate specifying the 12000 CAD.

Hi Asivad. .

I got my ITA today.

Now the scare of correct documentation starts.
More worried about proof of funds..
We have to show around 10 lakhs on terms of INR.

I and my husband have around 6 to 6.5 lakhs in our accounts ( put together). Around 2.5 lakhs we have in PPF
Accounts also.. my next salary and credits from company will have around 3 lakhs in next few days. Apart from this I can take from my father..

But I have few doubts. Can I make FD from money taken from my father now and can this FD be produced as POF?

Seconomy since my company will make big deposits in my account around 2-3 lakhs .. will I have to give LOE for those credits also?

ITA Received - Main applicant is pregnant

Hi,

My wife is the main applicant and she is pregnant, her due is in the month of Oct'15. she had received her ITA on Jul'15 and we have a deadline to submit it before Sep'15.

How do we include our unborn child in the application?

Or do we have to wait till the delivery date, which is very difficult as it is after our submission deadline date?

Will this be problem for us to get the PR on time?

Regards,
John

Anything you can prove by documentary evidence doesn't need an LOE. I'm presuming you will be able to prove why your company makes deposits into your account.

You can take money from your father and use it as a POF. Just take a signed self-declaration from them that this transaction (include all transfer details) is a gift not a loan hence need not be returned to them. Attach this along with POF.

It's best to have your own, separate thread.

However, to answer your question, go ahead with the application don't waste anymore time. Regarding medicals, your wife has 2 choices, whether to go with an xray (not recommended) or postpone it. If she chooses to postpone the xray, the doctor will do the rest of the checkup and provide you a report + a Pregnancy Deferral letter. You upload both letters. As soon as she delivers, she can do the xray and the doctor with upload her results.

Bro, my father is prepared to provide me with $20000 for me to show these as my POF.
As you mentioned in your comments, that i need to get a declaration that this money is not a lone but a gift from my father.

Can you please give me some guidance about the general outline of this declaration document as i am expecting to receive an ITA by next draw.

Thanks

Follow the below guidelines for this.

A copy of both sides of the family member's Canadian citizenship document, Canadian birth certificate and/or permanent resident card must be provided.

Evidence that the family member currently resides in Canada must be provided through documents such as a residential lease, mortgage documents, utility bills, etc.

The documents should be current to the six months prior to submission.

Proof of the relationship of the applicant or the spouse or common-law partner to the family member must also be provided through documents such as a birth certificate, an official document naming the applicant as a parent, a copy of the inside back cover of the relative’s passport showing the relative’s parents.
