Hi everyone!

I received my ITA yesterday finally and now I have a couple of questions re: the application & supporting documents:)
  1. What exactly is meant by "benefits" in the reference letter? Is this referring to bonuses & allowances received during employment? Or is this also referring to health insurance, social security, etc. even if they are withheld at the source of payment?
  2. Is is possible to submit Letter of Support/Endorsement/Invitation as part of my application? I have some Canadian citizen friends (not relatives) in Canada and I would like to ask them to write a letter in support of my candidacy for PR. Is this allowed?
Thanks!

1. Most people consider it to be monetary benefits such as commissions, bonuses or additional monthly living allowances, besides the salary stated.

2. You can but i doubt they will help you in any material way. Express Entry is not a job interview or college admission. It's based on rigid rules and points calculation and thus letters of support and such do not count additional points for you. And therefore anything of that nature is moot. To take things to extremity, a person can be an obnoxious a**hole without any friends and IRCC is still obligated to approve his/her permanent residence application if all documents are in order. :)

Good luck!

Hey thank you for your response! One more question, about proof of funds. My bank account is in USD. When I submitted my EE profile in June I specified that I am wiling to bring CAD "X" amount to Canada, which was based off the June's USD/CAD exchange rate. Since then it seems that the currency exchange has fluctuated so that the amount should be lower by like ~USD 200 (still meeting the minimum threshold).

Now my e-APR asks me again what amount I am wiling to bring. Should I specify the new amount based off the August's USD/CAD exchange rate? I am concerned specifying in the e-APR the amount that is different from the one specified in my EE profile. Is that ok? Would I need to enclose a letter of explanation explaining this?

That's OK. As long as the amount is over the lowest required level for your family size, there's nothing to explain or worry about.
