I am in a similar situation. My CRS is 557 and the deadline to upload documents is 30th June. My passport is about to expire on Jan 11th, 2020 so, would it be wise to just go with an existing passport for now and then update my passport at a later stage? Or passport expiry being close to 6 months is an issue?

I didn't know 6 months validity instead of 8 months as the above person (Ven191) would matter a lot and hence wanted to clarify. Thank you

Passport must have 3 months validity to get stamped visa.

I will be applying for passport renewal in the meantime and will update CIC with new passport maybe within a month. That should suffice to your concern of 3 months validity for stamping purposes right?
