ITA CANCELLED AS PASSPORT COPY OF SPOUSE NOT ATTACHED

So I get an ITA after a long wait, and I submit the complete set of documents after checking and rechecking. Ans in two days I get a message from CIC saying that my ITA is canceled as I did not attach passport copy of my spouse. We log in immediately and to our utmost shock, the copy has been attached and transmitted. We submitted a case specific enquiry as well as called the call centre. Not much help. This is so unfair.
Our agent says we should wait for their reply and by that time if another draw happens we can get one more invitation.

Why does CIC have such bad technical issues? Has anyone else encountered a situation like this, and has a cancelled case ever been reopened before?

This is very unfortunate! There have been reports of technical glitches and documents going missing leading to cancellations but there have been reports of successful reopening via CSE. You can check details on the 'rejection' thread or that large AOR thread. You've done the right thing by challenging your cancellation - hope for the best.

Meanwhile, hope you have created another profile - there could be a draw before end of August.

So as predicated we got another ITA. In the meanwhile, we were wondering when CIC will refund the amount that they have debited from our credit card for our previous application which they cancelled.

Any help is appreciated in this regard
