Hello All,

CEC applicants with no LMIA what did you answer for this question? I am going to submit by application soon.

Which of these categories does the applicants job fall under?
1.No Work permit required
2.Work permit required, LMIA not required
3.Work permit and LMIA required

I am guessing 3, but please advise

Thanks

I didn't come to that part yet but if you're on open work permit, you should select 2.

ok here is my question, in my present employment, the offer letter mentions, ' this contract has a duration of 24 months ..... so on' and in my reference letter, it says this is a permanent full time position...

does it make a difference? My employer says it should not make any difference and the reason they give that sentence is, mostly temporary workers on LMIA / etc have max. 24 months to work..

Just submitted my application!

Was issuing a LMIA required at that time? I had a similar experience in 2013, where I was required to get LMIA (LMO at that time) and on the border I got a work permit.
Please inspect your documents and select the most suitable option.
Hope I could help. Best of luck!

Hi Guys

I did my medicals in Apollo Heart Centre in Chennai today...Panel Physician observed some mild cyst in my thyroid and requested to do Ultrasound..Hence I did Ultrasound and the report states as per the below..

"Asymmetrically enlarged thyroid gland with diffuse coarse echotexture showing cystic areas.
Suggested further evaluaion"

Doctor said she will upload all the findings to the CIC site..

I am really worried would this step fail my medicals..

Pls advice what i need to you..

i'm not a medical expert here nor cannot predict anything.
But from my understanding what CIC is looking will be to 'control' immigrants having medical condition that can some way affect the existing community there. (contagious type) OR kind of cases that can be an overload for the existing medical facilities to handle/treat there.

I'm also worried as I had high blood pressure during medical check and I'm underweight as well.

Hello Gego,

My employer hired me without an LMIA. It's a small software company. But does this mean I am LMIA exempt? I thought that is for certain special occupations. I am working as software QA and my employer just hired me without any LMIA.

Now I don't know if I should choose, "Work permit required, LMIA not required"or Work permit and LMIA not required".

Thanks

As per my knowledge, medical examinations are required to check on critical issues such as HIV, AIDS, and other major diseases that could endanger Canada or be a burden on the economy, so I think there is no issue in your case.
All my best wishes for you.

I think there is no problem at all. Best of luck

I don't think I can assure that myself. You should contact your employer to know more details about it.
Are you still working there?
