Hi Peral
any rough idea how long it will takes ..from In Process to Medical ...

How about jobs of Data Center and Network operations?

Hi jnathan,

I just googled your job title and came across many job openings in Canada and I feel that overall IT job market is good.

My husband had talked to some of the recruiters in Canada; they were impressed with his profile but told it’s difficult to sponsor anyone outside Canada, as they have to give priority to Canadian citizens, PR card holders and ones with legal work status. According to me, if we want to land in a job as soon as we move to Canada, better to start exploring the job openings where we intend to move, note down the list of employers and recruiters and once u get the PR card, call them right away and find out if they got any openings in our respective field and important thing, never wait for the employers/recruiters to call you. Also, keep the options open coz we wanted to settle in Calgary but one recruiter from Vancouver has promised my husband a job once he gets his PR.

Anumatri, sorry dear I really dont have any idea as when we can except our Medicals from in-process status, hope we get at the earliest:)

All the Best to everyone with your job hunt process and wish we get our PR card soon.

Regards
Pearl2010

Thanks Pearl !

Searching for jobs in Canada seems far out at the moment with the turtle kinda speed CIC has lol.

yes Janathan
speed is so slow

inrprocees to medical ? how many months takes ?

With the given labour shortage in IT field, we can say that there is a good chance that they may open the IT workers wp again. This is just a speculation from my side...

If any one looking for IT jobs in canada and are already in canada, please visit desire2learn.com ... there are 66 openings right now. If you find anything, PM me...i can refer you.

IN PROCESS to MR used to take only 4 weeks when I applied in Early 2010.
in Late 2010 it went up to 3-4 months. and now its 6-8 months for many, and still rolling.

Canada's economy needs to do much better, more jobs needs to be created in every sector like pre 2007.
only then the speed of processing would pacify further.

Canada needs real skilled people in IT areas. There are lotsa applicants from asia who has got weighty certificates but they lack applied IT skills that Canada needs. many cant demonstrate their skill during the interview. many dont know the current world trends in IT. Immigrants primarily dont want to leave Ontario or other major cities, but there are jobs in Canada in remote areas but still those aint fulfilling the shortage they got.

This is in Ontario and not remote, its in Waterloo.

BTW, I agree with what you said jnathan. Thats what i found everytime i screened at interviews, most of them not upto the mark. I found a whole lot who could not talk proper English, the others probably havent seen a computer in their life. Yes, the certificates part..oh yeah that annoys me more than anything. Many ppl have asked me..."will having this certification get me a job"... my answer is always simple... "having a cert alone never gets you a job, and for one, you dont need a cert...all you have to know is to talk"

For IT, no one asks for canadian experience. All they ask is proper experience and if the candidate understands what he said in his resume!
