that depends of your visa office........ but just to give you some ideas, after the AOR, it could take up to six months to get your application in process, another 2 for decision made and you will spend like 1 month for sending your passport, get stamped and the way back to you.... I could say in the BEST scenario, at least 10 months.

As far as I know, you have 1 year to do the Landing process or the visa expires.. The landing it is just go to canada, do the paperwork and get your permanent resident status.. after that, you can go back to your country for a while without any restriction. Just keep in mind that if you want to become a Citizen, you must live in canada a certain number of days in total to apply after the Permant residence.
