Thank you very much for your valuable and informative insights. I am not from India but I too was in the Information Technology field but I am in Canada right now starting and I can not be choosy. I want a better life for my family and I have to start from the bottom of the ladder so to speak. I thank you for the links that you have provided. Hats off to you, after 1 year in Canada as a PR and 8 months in to my first aviation industry job in Toronto, I must say to all the prospective immigrants that your writing perfectly sums up the reality. But one thing is true, its 1000 times much easier to find suitable job in India than in Canada especially for qualified professionals.

Thanks for the encouragement....I have decided to share whatever I have found out till now...some people may take this as spoonfeeding and do nothing further on their own..but I am hoping lots of others will see the power of the internet and do some research on their own and share it online.
NOTE: I am an IT professional so there is a tendecny for me to post mostly IT related links here...but if you need any specific information ...ask me and let me see if I can find something for you...
btw...I recently found this on the Ontario Govt site...please check it out. It might be helpful to some who are already there and information to others who are moving there.

Just a few words:
No shame in Driving Taxis and Paying Taxes.
(A lot of people (graduates) do this in their home countries already. Remain focused on your Goals and plan accordingly).
Sitting at home and being a "FREEBIE" and reaping benefits is Bad - with time, you will go crazy and get used to it and become Lazy. You would have gotten used to it and adjusted your life style to it as well.
Personal Experience:
Came to Europe from Africa in 1988/89 as an Electronics Graduate. Worked in a Hotel as Dishwasher, then as a waiter and then as a Head Waiter ( Earned Good Money- More than White Collared Jobs, Paid Taxes and got paperwork sorted, Later Nationality). Used the earned Money to further my studies and Guess what, today I run a Business of my own and I am my own Boss). I go to those same hotels where I worked on hols with wife and kids and believe me - I feel very honored and respected with the way they treat me and welcome me.
However, I have never for once forgotten my past. For those who forget their past always loose grip on the future.

My personal experience:
Went to USA on F1 Visa(student) after finishing my Master of Computer Application(MCA) from Calcutta University. Studied in UCLA and worked parttime in Subway. I still remember how to prepare Subway sandwitches, I feel good about it.
Current job: Manager, Systems in a MNC, It's a well known brand.
