Dear All,

Would like to clear some doubts regarding choosing the right category for my application. Some BG info- Holding the bachelor's degree from India (NON IT).

Having technical certifications (Microsoft) related to my job profile.

Working as 'Systems analyst' within UAE over all experience 6+

IELTS (6.5)

Funds not at all a problem.

I am bit confused, related to my education as I my bachelor's degree is not related to IT field, but I am working in this field more than 6+ years. I can have the LOR's related to the job profile mentioned in the NOL- 2171 from my present and past employers.

Will there be any problem due to my non IT bachelor's degree ??? , if applying under NOL- 2171

Kindly advice on that.

Thank you

If u fulfill all the duties and responsibilities ...... and getting the eligibal marks to apply .......Then ur degree in other field does not affect ur file provided ur NOC falls in the required catagoies...... Hope and look for 2013 list of occupations .....@ cic.gc.ca

Your education will not matter and will not cross checked against your profession. They will be evaluated separately and awards points accordingly

Hope it help

Hi
are the news occupations list released ? could you please send me the link.....thanks

Hi,

No it's not released yet :(, I am just taking into the consideration that 2011 NOC list.
Rumors are there it's going to be almost the same with some minor modifications.

New eligible occupation list is out this April. Thought it might help you:

A number of information technology professionals who do not strictly identify as computer programmers may nonetheless carry out duties very similar to the above job description. Many NOCs go so far as to list closely related professions that may be considered as eligible. For NOC 2174, the following related professions are listed:

Computer network technicians
Database analysts and data administrators
E-business managers
Graphic designers and illustrators
Information systems analysts and consultants
Information systems testing technicians
Software engineers and designers
Web designers and developers

hi all,

I have 3.5 year of experience in Computer Programmer field from October 2009 to till date .Before that I was a banker from 2005 to 2008(3 years)..What will be my point of Experience? is it only 11 from computer or total 15 point at all?? I mean
Is CIC count only NOC related experience or any type of experience including last 1 year of eligible NOC related experience

In best of my knowledge, ALL years of professional experience count toward the points for "Experience" regardless of whether it was under the NOC you are applying for or not. Even apprenticeship/internship etc. counts towards points. But you MUST have at least 1 year of experience within last 10 years in the NOC category you are applying for in order to be eligible.

Hope that helps.
