Hello,

I landed up on this forum and thought it is really worth to get some advice on my situation from senior fellows here.

I am an IT professional from Delhi, India with 6 years of experience and a Bachelor Of engineering from education.

I am basically an SQL Server Database Administrator and looking for migrating to Canada.

At this point I am just at the stage-0 having nothing in place and most of the topics I read were to assist people who have already applied or are in midway of their process. Do I need to enroll with a consultancy first like Y-Axis but I fear that a wrong process may get me rejected so I wish to proceed as per the processes and laws.

Can somebody please guide me like thousands of people who have been guided here with great advice.

Regards
Chandan Jhs

Can somebody please guide me about the possibility so that I do not fall into wrong hands of some consultancies?

Regards
Chandan jha

Hi Chandan,

Applying through any consultant is nightmare.

You need to visit www.cic.gc.ca for Federal Skilled worker class and get the basic information such as forms, documents to be submitted, etc

Currently CIC has not announced the occupation list (which is expected in this month) and they will accept the applications from 4th May

This forum will be of great help to you when you apply and during the process

Thanks a lot for replying. Yesterday I had got a call from Y-Axis- one of the visa consultants in business who mentioned that IT profession is not in the Canada list of skilled occupation list and I should apply for Australia which costs around 3L INR and 6-10 months processing for PR. But as you mentioned, I will check the website to see if DBA or similar role in IT comes in the occupation list.

I regret that I was born little late ;D , H1-B were distributed in dozens 6-7 years back and now talented and deserving people are struggling to go abroad.

Thanks
Chandan Jha

Good luck to you buddy......you will get what you deserve.....

Don't waste money on consultants whether you are applying for canada or australia... the process is really simple if you spend some time going through it in detail and for a professional like you it should be a cake-walk. all the best!

Hi,

You need to check the IT occupation list and then proceed under FSW (Federal Skilled Worker Class) to apply for PR.

You need to have following before you apply :-

1) Your IELTS result (min 6 band in each session)
2) Education Credential Assessment with listed agency by CIC

For Quebec, you need to have french language knowledge (only partial knowledge is of no use)

Visit www.cic.gc.ca and click under "Immigrate" -----> "Federal Skilled Class". You will understand all things in simple and clear way.

Yes you may apply as long as you satisfy the eligibility criteria.

You may check online for courses available and eligibility for admission.

Also there are no grounds that they will reject visa (B.E Electronics) as long as you satisfy all requirements for student visa.
